Opened with lamb rack and rosemary potatoes. Has that St. Lucia element that's hard to describe, yet I recall vividly from the Siduri offerings that carried over to KB. Maybe pomegranate or orange? Opened not decanted. 2nd bottle of the night after the 09 Freeman Akikko Cuvée. No sign of aging or fatigue; dark fresh fruit with a rich mouthfeel; ends with a full fruit finish. Good to Very Good.

Popped and poured. Didn't need the decant for youthfulness nor is it aged enough to warrant a sediment separation. Wine is a dark, rich crimson. Not particularly bright. Almost opaque. On nose, BH had it right - cherry cola, strawberries, baking spices. On palate, wine is sound. Strong strawberries (wife: "this is like strawberry spa water"), rich, thick mouthfeel. Decanted at a local restaurant. In hindsight, should have decanted at home for a couple of hours prior to dinner. Seemed to take some time to open and fully blossom. This is a good Pinot albeit not outstanding. In this price range, there many wonderful Pinots to choose from.

Dark crimson in color. 14.5% ABV. Sexy nose of black cherry, baking spices and plums. Medium body with medium acidity. Rich and supple with layers upon layers of gorgeous fruit. Cherries, cola, cloves and nutmegs on the palate. Medium length on the finish. Simply delicious Pinot Noir to drink over the next 2-3 years while you wait on the Single Vineyard Designates.

Popped and poured with a cheese plate of Bre and Gouda. Wine has improved with a few years on it's side. Still fruit forward KB style but slightly calmed down. Lots of cherry up front with a bit of cola and spice added in. Medium finish, decent mouth feel.

Almost made me regret dropping off the KB list. Simply out of my league as I near retirement. Distinct, prominent cherry on the nose. Beautiful on the palate, a mind-messing delicate and full bodied palate. Not overly extracted like some KBs. Last bottle of the SLC and will miss it.

Wonderful nose of dark cherries and raspberries. Wonderful flavors of spice, dark red fruits, and a bit of rich Northern Spy apples. Fantastic bargain as K-B wines go. Lots of life in these bottles.

Solid KB style. Friends declared it WOTN. Went well with alder smoked salmon. Full bodied, rich on the palate. One of our guests said he was getting pine needles on the nose. With more swirling and sniffing I got a faint whiff of mint.

What a difference a year makes! Completely different wine. Tannins have calmed down, smooth dark fruit with strong sour cherry notes. Fuller, more concentrated wine that delivers a great 30+ second finish. Must decant for an hour.
