Still a totally fine wine. Funk upon open. After 15 minutes it still tastes like a standard RR chard. Nothing special, but a fun flex at this age.

Not special in any way, either good or bad. Best I can say: decent acidity.

At, or maybe a bit past, peak maturity. Thoroughly enjoyable, with notes of light butterscotch and caramel (in a positive way) with decent minerality and length. Showing some initial signs of aging and oxidation

Everything I love about California Chardonnay is present in this wine. Tropical fruits, pears, green apple, vanilla and just a tiny little bit of butter. Fresh and lively with a touch of acidity and a long, creamy finish. This wine is the complete package.

Mineral driven, strong oak, buttery but not overdone, I question if this is American oak, rich, full body, acidity is average

Oh, I just had to pop this one on the night of my 42nd Bday. Shrimp cocktail and nachos- A bright yellow color with aromas of pears, cotton candy, and steamed butter. Medium to full on the palate with and excellent acidic balance. Pear pulp, vanilla bean, tropicals, stonefruit, some perfume finishing long with green apple. Nice I say! This is as good as it gets. GV will one day look back on his youthful notes and realize he has …

Good nose of lemon zest and hazelnut. Crisp but long finish with a very round mouthfeel - great balance. Sweet fruit with presence of minerality. Not a lot of complexity in the fruit but complements the roasted salmon in dill mustard sauce very well. No trace of sulphur or other offputting aromas expereinced with some of the 05's.

Not how I remembered it. It took a while to adjust to it. Initial taste was very acidic and probably due to my choice of food as an accompaniment. Once adjusted then the fuits come through, Green apple the most prominent. Still an acidity is uncommon in most Californian Chardonnays.

We had this at Island Prime restaurant in San Diego. After opening it was a little bland so we let it sit in the glass for a few minutes. As the evening went on this one began to open up. Got a little creamier. Not too fruity. Was a really nice chardonnay. Might want it to sit around for just a little while longer.

WIML88. No formal notes. Opened and glass decanted about a hour before serving. Light yellow to yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Fairly subdued nose and palate. Light to medium acidity and body. Just a hair behind the last bottle. Drink now. This wine has never impressed.

A lovely charodnnay, could keep for several years. Not bad for his "entry-level" wine

Buttery with apple and pineapple on the nose, as it warms up vanilla an a touch of toastiness are introduced from the oak. Double cream and toffee on the palate with juicy red apples and a touch of tropical. Slightly perfumed on the finish with some heat. Not mouth filling but it does linger in the mouth. Lots of acidity still. This is drinking well now and will not improve. No more than 2 years left.

Light to medium yellow. Aromas of tropical fruit and vanilla, with flavors of lemon butter, fresh flowers, charcoal, and liquid minerals. Medium-full body, a little thin midpalate, with alcohol on the finish. Some nice parts; maybe this needs a little more time.

Oak is calming down a bit, went well with roasted chicken and goat cheese.

French Oak, sweet corn, toast and cream. Pretty stereo typical Cal Chard flavors, but a bit understated and not at all 'sweet'. This seems a bit lighter than previous vintages (typical '06 in NoCal) and i think it is better for it. While it lacks concentration it is fresher and more lively. There is a bit of aggro oak on the palate but it does add some textural elements and is not totally out of place. Some soft cream notes …

Drank at Shorside with Nathan, Marta, Brian and Angie. Nice Chardonnay, but a little too much Oak for my taste.

One of the better chardonnays that we have had in quite some time. Color is a little lighter then the typical California chardonnay. Not that I have tried this but the color resembles what you would get if you mixed a darker colored chardonnay with a sav blanc. The nose has good pear and green apple aromas mixed with some burnt wood. Oak is light and the acidity is relatively high for chardonnay. Texture is very smooth with a good …

WIML89+?,PURPLE91 Tasted June 2, 2008. No formal notes. Opened and served immediately. Light yellow to yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Heavy nose and palate dominated by oak, yellow fruits and some citrus notes. Medium acidity and body. Hold for 6 months to a year to allow this to settle down a little and hopefully better integrate on the nose and palate. PURPLE says "Nice".

Similar thoughts to last time. A nice chard but nothing spectacular, esp at the $35+ range...

The nose had nice citrus and some green apple aromas. The palate had lemon, green apple, and some buttery flavors. This had good acidity and had a nice length finish. I really enjoyed this Chardonnay.
