Interesting nose of cherries, plums/prunes, figs, cocoa, charcoal and tar. Palate is surprisingly elegant, dominated by rich red fruits rather than black fruits - cherries, smoked raspberries, red currants, blueberry, with some mocha, spice, and leather on the back palate. After an hour in the decanter it really opens up with the classic blueberry flavour complimented with a very distinct rhubarb note. Tannins are pleasant, alcohol is not overwhelming. Deep red colour, fantastic nose with blacberries and tobacco, beatiful deep flavours - blackberries, tobacco, liquorice - with lots of tannins. Still lots of power the following day. Will undoubtedly improve from resting a year or 2.

A notably light appearance on pouring. The nose has brambles, a bit of cocoa dust, some dried figs and a touch of eucalyptus giving it a nice lift. The vines might be from Lodi originally, but that's about all it shares with the type of Lodi Zinfandel found most commonly in the UK. This is light and subtly fragrant with great balance.
