Domaine Sylvie Spielmann Riesling Kanzlerberg

Med+ intense golden straw yellow colour. Fresh and forward bouquet. Dry w. refreshing acidity, good body and overall nicely balanced. Alc. well integrated. Like a dry Mosel (just better in my opinion of course) w. petroleum but more towards lime rather than lemon. Good, long, mineral rich finish. Keep or drink. My notes: Lemon, lime, pomelo, grapefruit, stones, popcorn, curry.

W. just 3.4 ha Kanzlerberg is the smallest Grand Cru in Alsace. The soil consits of gray and black marl and characterised by silica, white bariyte and violet flour. The wines are generally worth cellaring. Yellowish hue. Quite intense bouquet that almost shoots out of the glass. Piercing yet refined acid, rounded sweetness and oily richness and a long finish. My notes: Roasted honey, leaves, brioche, lemon (burned, salty, pickled), nuts and marzipan.
