60 minute decant. Funky, peppery dark cherry nose with a touch of fresh herbs, lavender, and a hint of red pencil eraser. Red cherry palate has a leathery texture with a spice note that reminds me of German glühwein. Vibrant, energetic finish with kirsch, acidity, and more pepperiness. Good but not great.

Enjoyed on Christmas to celebrate close friend’s engagement. We are all lovers of Brunello and this was perfect with a tenderloin roast. Drinking really well right now, with all the characteristics I look for in a Brunello. Fruit is fairly minimal with lively acidity and firm but well structured tannins. Don’t see a reason to hold any longer this is ready to go! Wish I had more.

The bouquet is reserved with wet earth, black cherries, clove and star anise. After sometime in the glass, the nose got deeper with graphite and mushroom. The palate still has not some bite, medium-bodied and slightly woody and savoury fermented soya beans in the mid-palate. A bit watery in the finish. Ready to drink now and unlikely to improve further.

I agree with FARINAS, this wine is drinking great! Slow o’d for a few hours and then enjoyed over the evening. No formal notes but it was great on its own and also with food.

Decanted and tasted. Medium intensity garnet color. Slightly closed nose, spice and sour cherry. Medium tannin and acidity on palate. Sour cherry, coffee and spice. Medium finish.

More bottle variation with the cork breaking this time. Still a good wine but not singing like other bottling.

A bit of bottle variation, as this one was not as well tuned as the previous bottles. When this wine is pristine, it is an impressive Brunello.

Second bottle, resolving now into a deep cherry with a bit of tobacco. Don't see it developing further, but it is a decent mid-priced Brunello. Pleasant wine that was enjoyed by a table of Brunello fans.

Wow this is a beauty when it comes to Brunello. Great nose of Sangiovese and flowers and burnt toasty oak. Nice bricking color with great acidity. This one is a very nice Brunello and a steal for $50

Nose of cherry, cherry cough drops, menthol, and oak. Black cherry fruit with cola and caressing but large tannins that flow into chestnut and walnut, red fruits, and wet earth.

Flaccid and dull. Possibly could have done with a decant.

Dark garnet color, a compact nose some cherry and tobacco. On the palate first plum and prunes and then tobacco and licorice in the finish. Not much acidity. Sweeter than expected for a BDM. 90-91 P

Garnet color medium dark core. Not overly aromatic but a bit of earth. Full bodied and pretty tannic to boot. Sour cherries all day long

Luftet 2 timer i karaffel.

Initial notes of and smoked , but still far too much tannic backbone on the finish. about how this will fare when the tannins resolve, but I don’t plan to try my other bottles for another few years.

Fifth wine tasting on my 2017 Montalcino trip. Purple red color and soft aroma. Modest first Brunello burst - oranges, red cherries with full body. Moderate linger but no dry oaky finish. Good drinking wine right away.

Deep, dark, reddish-purple garnet in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of black cherries, blackberries & plums with earthy/dusty & floral overtones of violets, smoky, tar, minerals, spices, some tobacco, herbs & a hint of cola in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, lush, ripe fruit flavors of blackberries, dark cherries & blueberries with herbs, mushrooms, spices, minerals, cocoa & oak. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at …

Ripe, ready and waiting for you; the kimono has come off of this modern, juicy wine. You can choose to give this an hour in decanter - or not, with food, or not - whatever you do, serve it between 60F-63F for a more complete effect. Now, and in the next 7-8 years. https://www.ItalianWine.blog

Cherry and spice, well integrated tannins, good balance. It is ready to drink now though may become even better with more cellaring.

This Brunello is made with young vineyard and is different compared with the major brother , is less complex and fine but is also affordable to buy.
