Really solid zin. On the lighter side so none of that over-the-top jamminess many zins are known for. Easy drinking and enjoyable.

Last of the ZAP wines. Big nose of ripe blueberries, blackberries and cherries, consistent tasting notes with white and black pepper, raisins and plums. Medium purple, medium bodied and medium legs. Light tannins and acidity, moderate persistence, some heat, probably because it's both young, 2017, and high alcohol, 15.5%. This is the most typical of the zins I brought back. It's enjoyable but pretty unsophisticated, best, IMO, as a cocktail wine, and something I'd want to drink very occasionally. 87-88

2020 ZAP Trade Tasting, new producer for me, nose of black cherry, black berry, and plum, same on the palate, needs 4 years to peak, lovely, rich, tasty, long finish, at $26 worth a search.
