2026-04 Vinorules Bordeaux varieties by Ray at Scopri (Scopri) : Tasted blind. Incredibly subtle nose of blackcurrant. On the palate, richer and sweeter. Super expressive blackcurrant fruit. I kept on going back to this wine in the bracket - the mix for deep expressive but beautifully balanced fruit. 96+ My WOTN against stiff competition from the likes of Mouton, Latour, La Mission, Sassacaia and Leoville Las Cases.

Very well balanced wine. 30 min decant was enough despite others saying 2 hours. Nose was full of fruit, Connecticut cigar, and typical Italian dustiness. Quite complex. Tannins were quite resolved and mellow. Some faint acidity but in all the right ways. Was perfect with a Kansas City steak.

having had a few of these over the last 4 years i'm happy to confirm that this vintage, this cuvee, is cruising comfortably into its 25th year, and continues to shine brightly. firing on all cylinders, it offers oodles of everything... stunning aromatics, laser-focussed purity of fruit, balance, and layers of textural depth. top notch.

Nez de cerise noire, vanille, oxo, viandé… Delicious crisp tannin, lactic, very nice, delicious 30 sec length

this continues to impress. out of the cellar, it needed to come up in temp a little to open. once it did, a beautifully fresh bouquet of dark berries, slightly minty, a touch of earth, soy. palate is showing more development now, more savoury character. still a good dose of acidity, keeping things lively, and fine but notable tannin on the close. such a fantastic wine.

Fun to see that my last tasting note on this wine is almost 10 years ago. This was drinking really well tonight — youthful and fresh, with lots of dark ripe fruit, but the tannins have softened so the hard edges have gone away. Very nice.

Nearly 5 years since my last bottle. This benefitted from a one hour decant but could have used 2 plus. Finally getting close to its prime drinking window. Very well balanced and polished. A complete wine. Subdued up front fruits that glide under the radar into a medium bodied wine with a long finish. These will drink well for at least 2 more decades. Paired well with rack of lamb. Revisit 2028

Absolutely spectacular. A Tuscan super star super Tuscan. Exceptional nose. Berry, currents and faint plum. No lack of fruit, plenty of tannins. I argued with my fellow winos on decant. We decanted for about 30 minutes. 2 hours would have been more appropriate. This is one of 3. Last one I had was over 2 years ago. I can not guess what life this has left. Wine of the night out of 7. Youthful at 24. I’d wait 3-5 for …

Wow, this was good! Let it breathe for about 1 hour. Fresh aromas of black cherries, some pepper and coffee, tobacco and wet leaves too. On the palate there are red fruits and cherries. Very long ending

A “Ryder Cup” of Wine Tasting Dinner (White Dog Café - Wayne, Pa, USA) : In my cellar since release. (Cabernet Sauvignon 65%, Merlot 30%, Cabernet Franc 5%, 14.5% stated ABV) At 10:30am 3 bottles were double decanted after an hour and taken to a tasting. Dark opaque garnet color. Initially, very effusive nose of bright florals, fragrant dark berries, turned earth, cassis, coffee, chocolate and ripe plum. Bright acidity, fully integrated tannins, dense texture but so beautifully balanced. Palate …

In a perfect place, but likely age longer. Color is deep and clear. No bricking. Nose is quite complex and beautiful! Good density and mouthfeel. Fruit is vibrant and lingers on. Great with pasta at Spago in Bellagio.

Wow. Awesome. Still lots of tannnins and fruit left. Very powerful and typical tuscan. Can last 10-20 years still. I would wait minimum 5 years if I had more bottles left.

Mmm this is good! Needs to be decanted, growing and opening after an hour. Generous sweet black fruits, christingle: burnt orange and cloves, accompanied by very pure menthol. Cigar, tobacco. Long, complex. Drinking now, will last for years.

Dark red color, beautiful nose of dark cherries, forest floor, tobacco. Good mix of primary and tertiary notes on the palate. Well built structure, pressure, tension - black cherries. Lasting very long and you get what you expect: a great wine at its peak now and for a few more years...

If there was an ode to the simple pleasures of abusive drinking then this might be it; Ornellaia, horny liar, always gets you higher, etc. I feel lucky to have had two bottles of this vintage in recent years and it fully justifies its place in the ranks of the great wines of the world. You need to decant this and give it about 6-8 hours to breathe before you see the best it has to give. I found it …

Drank together with 2001 Altesino Alte d'Altesi at a long overdue lunch at Bymark. Deep garnet in colour. Dark red and black fruit, spice and tobacco complexity. Palate was balanced, tannins soft and well integrated. Long finish. This has years ahead of itself. I struggle to compare the two wines. The Ornellaia showed more complexity and depth in the end but the Altesi gave me more immediate pleasure and a more appropriate food accompaniment.

Bright fruit on cassis and plum with spice, chocolate and leather. Intense and elegant at the same time. Palate of magnificent intensity with a silky touch. The fruit is pure with earthy aromas and in the second wave flavors of sweet spices and tobacco. It's balanced with a longline acidity that stretches the juice and gives a lot of pleasure. The wine is tasty, just on its shelf of maturity. Great finish full of nobility, which opens gently to gain …

lots of sediment in the bottle, dark and still slightly opaque. stunning super tuscan nose of stewed fruit, plum, cassis, spice, v earthy. palate is more of the same… big, hearty, bold, fruity and savoury. sensory overload in the best way. acidic pop mid palate and healthy tannic grip on the long finish. outstanding. based on tonight’s performance, there’s still likely a year or two left at peak.

Stewed plum, blackberry compote, cassis, with cherry blossom, leather, and chocolate. Still signing with vibrant acidity though this brightness mutes within an hour, so would not overdo the decant. With time the deep dark fruit on the nose really dominates. Full bodied and tons of fruit on the palate, balanced with chewy earthy and leather notes. Delicious on its own, may be overpowered by a heavy meal. Drink now and over the next few years. Thanks again to #1or#2 for …

92-93 Very Bordeaux style wine, rich with a good texture, good structure, the tannins are still there but they have a nice silky feel, still very young despite the age, very good bottle but …
