Dense 2022 apples and orchard fruit waiting to emerge behind a lovely reduction on the nose that seems to come from the barrel. Some Corton minerals hiding alongside the bright acidity. Difficult to place blind, as this kind of reduction is not typical for me from a young Ramonet. The vineyard must be a factor here, as the Bienvenues-Bâtard tasted side-by-side showed only a hint of reduction. Thank you, Bill! 95+

First Dive into the Sea (Whale Club, Hong Kong) : First vintage was made in 2020, from negocient fruit. Great power to the popcorn reductive nose as this stage, very typical of the producer. Obviously showing little of its full talents today. There is profound mineral and almost slightly tannic streaks going through the wine, very representative of the Corton hill. Only a slight hint of caramel on the backpalate, oily whilst still retaining an underlying leanness.

Andrew's Birthday Dinner 2025 : PnP. Rich and unctuous. A very nice showing of this new cuvee. Good, but lacking a bit from being great.
