Simonelli-Santi Orcia Malintoppo

Disjointed upon opening, a few hours of air improved things. Tired red fruit, spices, cocoa. My recommendation, drink yesterday.

Slightly more tannic than the last bottle, but still with that refreshing but savoury balsamic touch. Again impressive.

Showing some age in the colour and typical Italian "balsamic" notes, which tended towards the more "Musar" end of the spectrum. Tannins were still surprisingly strong and acidity was balanced. Really very impressive, and reasonable value at just short of £11. Would probably keep another two years with ease and may even improve, but is really showing very nicely at the moment.
