This wine has really mellowed out since the last bottle I tried. Nice floral notes typical of a good syrah. Very nice finish. Very sippable.

Too overripe, not enough acid, brightness, mineral, vegetables or balance. Really don't like this style. Much like Marrieta Old Vine Red. A bit pricey for what it offers. Course everything at Apollo is a bit pricey

Sophisticated if brambly nose of black plums, black cherries, smoke and vanilla oak. Big palate impact, too oaky but otherwise delicious-- black fruits, pepper, vanilla, in a well balanced palate and a long, spicy/black cherry finish. The heavy oak mars what would otherwise be a lovely wine. Very round and smooth. Still hard to rate down something this tasty too much.

Drank over two nights. The first it had a bit of a smoky/bacony nose and was sort of a mash of fruit flavors. Second night it was much better. Almost tasted like a straight Australian Shiraz, with very distinct brambleberry flavors.

Wow. I was a good girl today, so I decided to award myself with a good wine. This Rosenblum Rhone blend was definitely an excellent choice. It has aroma of ripe fruits, mostly plum, with a hint of cherry, but also vanilla and chocolate. The palate is spicy, full of cherries and very oaky. Yes this wine defintely has oak but also mocha, blackberry, dark plum and spice. Not necessarily Rhone in style but very good for an easy drinking every day wine.

Extremely oaky. Very smooth, very rich, palate filling, but the strong taste of vanilla really does a disservice to a wine that might be very good otherwise.

Fruity, with a dry finish. A little spice, probably from the Zinfandel. I am a fan of Rhone style wine, and this one comes pretty close to pulling off a successful imitation. On the whole a good solid wine, and a decent value. I would buy this again.

First bottle of this was corked, so bought another to give it a fair shake. Starts out very oaky, LOTS of vanilla, very generic tasting. Not Rhonish at all, which would be fine, except it's really not interesting at all. As the oak fades there's not much underneath it. I have liked some of Rosenblum's more expensive wines, and I suspect that there is a palate to which this appeals, but it sure isn't mine.

Too much oak and too much sweetness. Very smooth and drinkable -- too much so. After a few hours it became that this bottle was slightly corked, so we may try another, but I think it's too New World for my tastes -- what's scary is that for a few moments the TCA coming to the fore gave it a needed bite.

91 pts for a $10 bottle of wine -- fantastic qpr. This wine is ripe, ripe, ripe. Black cherry is very much at upfront display here, yet it manages to stay truthfully medium-bodied. Pepper and spices certainly spruce up this fruit-forward wine. All in all, balance is where this very-low-cost wine deserves its ribbon. This was a total surprise. A cotes du rhone style, but with some zinfandel added for a nice bite. Medium strength that does well with pasta and a red sauce and enjoyable by itself as well. The best American style cotes du rhone that I have tasted yet (with more to come).

Tasted at Mainstreet today and really enjoyed it. Chewy and jammy (in a good way) with tons of fruit exploding on the nose. Not a quaffer but definitely tasty.
