Dark golden treacle. A bit fuller and clunkier than the excellent Camillo. 93.

{cork, 22%} Translucent mid-brown/caramel colour. Caramel, molasses aromas, with a musty carpet or molten leather quality. Highly acidic, with piercing toffee and caramel flavours. Doesn’t really extend past the mid-palate, finish long but predictably warm, with a molten blast of runny caramel that blends the medium sweet presence with some exotic musk and wild honey. Fun wine, from the olden days.

Seppeltsfield WW1 Para Centennial Tasting 1914-18 (Randwick Racecourse, The Stables room) : Very dark, black. Classic deeply fragrant nose, fruit-driven, olive tapenade, creme caramel. Slightly lighter frame than others, but with brighter fruits and a little more of the green olive tapenade richness, less pure black char and spice. Very long smooth finish.
