A strong showing for the vintage. Drinking beautifully now, but still plenty of cellar life left.

After 2 hours in the decanter, this wine was really nice. Quite forward cherries in the nose with big mouth-filling body containing plenty of varietal cherries......long lingering finish.

My system (nose mouth finish) //- , Will need to open another one soon, this bottle was so VA it was almost undrinkable. Did not get any better on day 2. Not representative of what I have from them in the past.

Very hot. But still relatively balanced. I like my Santa Barbara Pinots, but this one tastes a bit more warm weather...

Chablis, Melville Clonal Blending and The Round 3 Let 'Er Rip (My House In The South OC) : Plump, broad shouldered and very sexy in tone. Big core of darker fruit but did not come off syrupy to me. Pulled off the flavors and expression quite well.

Chablis, Melville Clonal Blending and The Round 3 Let 'Er Rip (My House In The South OC) : A big wine but also fairly complete. Blueberry jam, raspberrry and a cool purity but of the three 2007 clonal selections, for me the biggest.

Very happy with this Pinot; very revealing, hedonic nose with good fruit concentration and complexity in the palate; finishes respectively; a pleasure and predictable in every bottle!

Terrific, velvety pinot. Meaty and delicious with steak. For a pinot, drinks big.

Very nice and crisp nose with lots of red cherries with a hint of tobacco as well as ash. The palate shows lots of red berries and cherry, slight acidity with well balanced tannins and a long finish. This wine drinks well now but should evolve nicely over the next couple of years.

Needed a little time to open up, but after roughly 60 minutes was showing nicely. An interesting nose of spice, red fruits, and tobacco. The palate evolved over time, smooth and less pinot-like at first, and then spicier elements on the palate with a slightly tannic back-end. Finish extended over time, although it was never particularly long.

big dense nose of baking spice and tobacco. well balanced on the palate, though a bit leaner than nose would imply. drinking very nicely right now.

Surprisingly complex and good backbone for a 115. Dark, earthy and spicy on the nose met with black cherry syrup on the palate. A seamless bruiser that really benefited from a couple hours of air.

Weekend in the Santa Ynez Valley; 3/27/2009-3/30/2009 (Solvang, Los Olivos, Lompoc, and surround areas) : Tasted at the winery. Softer nose than the Estate with strawberry and watermelon. Cedar and blackberry flavors with chewy tannins coming on into the finish along with some heat. Not quite as ready to go as the Estate. This one needs time to settle down.
