Melini Chianti Classico Riserva

A very bordeaux like nose - lean, dusty, a little green, a bit of tobacco, the only thing that marked it out as Italian was the distinctive notes of tar. To taste, also rather claret-like but again some tar, quite lean, tannic and a little dry. My first Chianti for some time. Not an especially warm welcome.
