(Blind verkostet) Mittleres Rubinrot, noch jugendlich. Dezente Beerenfrucht, Walderdbeere, dazu Tee, Leder, erdige Noten. Im Gaumen gradlinig, trocken, lebhaft, balanciert, keinerlei C02, wunderbar balanciert. Das macht Spass, zeigt Trinkfluss, eine gute L�nge und ein rotfruchtiges Finish. Einer der sch�nsten Freisa, die ich bisher verkosten durfte. Jetzt bis 2030

PnP. Dark berry red, 5.5. Intense fruity aroma, cherry, blackberry, some spicy stuff. Rather rustic palate, mT, h-A, mB, intense fruit, tart acidity, fruity finish leaving a fresh sensation. Drink now-onwards. Fine everyday wine - especially with charcuterie.

What a fantastic surprise. At almost age 6, the 2016 is a sublime, radiant and fairly refined version of Freisa. The structure, tannins, nerves and power are in balance and go wonderfully hand in hand with the aromas of tart berries, forest floor, underbrush, dusty roses and hints of old leather. Loved it.

Popped and poured. Dark ruby color. A little tight on first opening but after about an hour or so it showed some beautiful bright red cherry and almost amarena cherry flavors. Hint of dried salumi coming through as well with some floral notes. Really nice. Similar flavors on the palate with a mix of juicy red fruit and meat with medium+ acid and tannins. Drank better with food than on its own but certainly enjoyable now with some air.

Another great bottle of this wine. Medium body, good acidity, cassis, blackberry, herbs and menthol. I feel like this has tightened up since last go, with former tannins and in need of longer decanting. I don�t have much experience with Freisa but I think this can age longer based on the current profile.

Very aromatic, not dense but airy, red and blue fruits, italian herbs and curry leaves. Savoury entry, lovely freshness, good underlying minerality. Again this is not a very dense wine, maybe light - Med bodied, with very fine grained Tannin. Very juicy and lingering. Nice juice.

PnP and drunk over two nights. A nose of tar, asphalt, dark berry fruits, violets, iron, iodine, and some barnyard that blows off with air. A mid weighted, very well balanced freisa with a nice mix of savory and fruit, ferrous, and stony elements on the palate. Great showing again from this '16 from Rinaldi. Pretty much the same impression as last bottle, will need 3-5 years to show development if that's what you're looking for. Drinks excellent already with dark fruit, iron, earth, gravel, dried herbs and liquorice. Deep and kind of raw in structure and at the same time with a refreshing lift that makes you lift up the glass almost immediately after putting it down. Really like the quality of the tannins. A lot of berries on the nose, sweet and tart. Herbs, iron, violets and roses. The relationship with Nebbiolo is clear when you drink this wine open. Fresh palate with a lot of character and charm, slightly dry tannin structure but not too sharp imo. This is so fun to drink you almost forget about thinking about what is happening. A few years would do good but I love it already.

I am not all that familiar with Freisa but found this to be pretty good, although not as excited as Nostrabacchus below. Initially I found the wine to display likeness to Dolcetto in that it had quite a lot of blueberry and blackberry on the palate, sweet berry fruit. Acidity seemed low initially. Tasted during visit. Beautifully perfumed and very fascinating aromatics of bright red berries, game, minerality, some spices too. It's medium-lighter bodied but with good persistence, has medium-high acidity and low-medium tannin. Good length. An excellent, expressive and super fresh Freisa.
