Nose is still gorgeous, but body has lost much of its fruit - if that's important to you. Certainly still a lovely wine, but the 2008 is showing much better right now, with much more brightness and lush fruit.

Brought to pre-Falltacular dinner at Fratello's. Popped and poured. Bright cherry red color. Nose of strawberry, plum, cranberry, and cherry cola with a hint of violets and dried grass. The floral notes become a spicy sandalwood on the palate followed by pure flavors of ripe cherry, black plum, brown spices and toasted almond. Very nice lingering finish. Exceptionally smooth for its age and will only get better with time. Should score in low-90s.
