Totally, and a little volatile-y, really toffee and spot on with choc pecan pie. Day 2 and lots of hazelnut and graham cracker on the palate. 1/3 of the way to Madeira. This is really nice. Don’t need pie.

Dark color, lots of raisin aromas, port-like.

This was my first Vin Santo from the Rufina sub-zone and I was very impressed by the impeccable balance between the medium (+) to high acidity and the sweetness of the fruit. The nose is clean, with stone fruit, molasses, dried fruit, hazelnuts, candied citrus, tropical fruit and a touch of oxidation. The palate is consistent with the nose, and the alcohol is medium at 13%. This is an excellent, medium-bodied Vin Santo which paired well with cannoli and pecan …

Dark amber brown core with lighter rim; nose has lots of brown sugar and molasses, dates, figs, slight oxidized note, hazelnuts and Brazil nuts, viscous and sappy, orange marmalade, apricots; complex and delicious though more monolithic than the gorgeous 2006.

Carob, light molasses syrup, dates, guava paste, sweet tobacco, oxidative notes, and minerals. Excellent acid makes for an interesting experienced, complex, generous, and long. 91-92.
