This is one of our favorite go to wines...local for us and not expensive (under $14) but always a solid effort and sometimes very good.

New at Provincial store. Grab bag of Cab Franc, Cab Sauv, Merlot. Columbia Valley, Washington. A little heat on nose and palate. Some background funky oak, and green peppers for sure. Medium acid and light tannins. The palate is similar. More vegetal than fruit. I let sit in glass for 30 mins+.

Odd twang/zest to this bottle. A little too much green vegetation for my liking.

Nice fruit, not terribly complex. Flavor spectrum on the darker side, as expected of a Columbia Valley w/ lots of merlot. Black cherries, chestnuts; notable lack of oak. Decent spice. Pretty solid.

The thing that killed this wine for me was the finish. On the finish there was a taste of cough syrup to me. It could have been a bad bottle but I will not retry.

This is a Caub Sauv, Cab Franc and Merlot blend which is a fantastic buy in the $13 - $15 range. Very drinakble, with seemingly low tannins, the ripe fruit flavors come out in full force. The oak exerts it presence on the finish with some hints of black pepper, but doesn't over power the dominant fruit flavors of the wine. We love this bottle. We had it with steak but might recommend that it be paired with a heavier …

fruity nose, but with a hint of other, vegetal/earthy stuff going on to make it interesting. Balanced across the palate. A really nice bottle to sip at $14.

Dark, intsense red blend with a very long finish. Smooth and complex, with hints of chocolate, coffee and tobacco. Great winter sipping wine, and amazing quality for the price.
