Easy to drink well crafted Rioja. Red fruit on the nose with good fruit on the palate. Decent acidity with some oak. Found its simplicity very enjoyable.

Solid, medium light body with moderate bubbles and fruit. The right amount of acidity for a weekday/casual cava. Would work well for some spritz cocktails as well.

Nose - juicy red fruit, red licorice Taste - Much more oak, earthy, vanilla, red licorice. Wish there was a little more red fruit. Tasted flat, need a stronger oak or vanilla flavor combined with red fruit.

Light pale gold, medium amount of small fine bubbles. Slate, lemon, sherbet, salt, grapefruit. Mousse is medium, acidity fresh but wonderful balanced, body is medium light, finish medium light. A bit tart, slight puckering. Granny Smith apples, lemons, slate, citrus rind, slight metallic taste. A really fun easy summer drink, great QPR

I prefer the Reserva over this

clear, pale yellow, bubbles apple, pear, white wine sweet, pleasant bubbly / foamy short but pleasant it's better than champagne of the same price (not hard... $9 champagne is awful). is quite good mixed with strawberry lemonade.

Good wine but overall disappointing for a 10 year old gran reserva. Short with little aroma complexities, some plum and chocolate notes. Short with slightly acidic tannins That said it could aged more which is good and expexted from a gran reserva.

I take this to be current release or close to it, as I just bought it today, but it's showing much more advanced than I would expect, even for a 2013. Cork seemed a little dry, but came out clean, (stained half way up). Brick color heading towards tawny. My first tasting of this Spanish cava was reported on CellarTracker on 4/6/2021. It is interesting to note that my views seem to differ from most reviews here - i like this for what it is. I do not think this is overdone, nor oaked in excess (for a Rioja, ie.), somewhat porty maybe. It lacks some punch but it is rather balanced and red-fruit dominance (which i like). Good value. What it lacked in finesse it made up for with clean flavors of lime and lemon zest that accompanied a range of appetizers.

Costco Wine Blind Challenge (Mi Casa) : Sweet and refreshing nose, perhaps chenin, a hint of petrol, so Riesling? Yellow peach, banana and Granny Smith. Bubble is abundant but a bit sharp. Definitely not a champagne. Not much complexity but very fresh and delicious. This is a delicious summer quaffer. WOTF.

Moxie and I have just moved to Virginia, where the local Costco sells wine and beer. I picked this bottle of Cava up for under $8, yes $7.99 to be precise. Bold and spry. Concentrated, effusive medium bubbles, very good acidity and balance. This could be paired with most anything.

Not great, but ok. Thinner than I expected. Dark red fruit and licorice on the nose. Chalky cherries and stewed tomatoes on the palate. The fruit flavors fade on the finish, leaving oak and dry leather.

Better than the acceptable but commercial Reserva 2014 however this is still not a wine of great character. It’s clean, modern without being souped up. Good for the price. 13.5%, cork (the Reserva used diam).

Green apple and lemon as others have mentioned. Very pleasant sparkling wine.

Big disappointment! 4 years ago I had their 2012 Reserva and I liked it. I thought that Gran Reserva will be much better. Unfortunately it's not. Nose is nice, but not strong. Black berry, raspberry, leather, vanilla. Taste is somehow watery with dry feeling. Too much vanilla and spice, not enough fruits. No balance. I have 2014 GR and also Reserva. Will see how they compare to this fluid.

Eh. Some rioja typicity of red fruit, American oak and dusty tannins. Slight greenness on the oak. No overt flaws, but lacks finesse and tastes mass-produced.

Pleasant and very bubbly. Delicate flavors. Nice for a wedding L’chaim!

Red-fruited and a bit of liquorice. Quite clean, fresh, and not extracted nor oaked in excess. Not high in acid or tannin but cant help but wonder what 3-5 yrs would do to this. Hold, for fun.

Popped and poured- nose is muted. Notes of leather and red fruit with a rather short finish. Not overy complex, but nice.

I found this a really nice prosecco. Our go to prosecco is the Kirkland Kirkland Asolo @ $7. That we use mainly in Aperol spritz and Kirs. This is pleasant on its own, a nice quaff.

This is the Campo Viejo Cava reserva rather than the rose' which I tasted on 2/18/2021 celebrating the successful landing of the Perseverance rover on Mars. The reserva went with our dinner ham, celebrating Easter. The alcohol content was a little less in the rose' (11.5% vs 12%) and the underlying grapes were not mentioned (Trepat in the case of the rose'). Sherbet lemons and an aggressive mousse. Low intensity on the palate. Uninspiring sparkler.

I decanted it for about an hour first. Went very well with a garlicky leg of lamb. We followed it with a bottle of the 2014 Rioja "Reserva" also from Campo Viejo. The Gran Reserva compared well with its younger cousin.

Lovely deep red wine with lots of mellow flavour. Went very well with homemade steak and mushroom pie and homemade chips and red cabbage.

Assertively effervescent. Sour finish. Fine for mixing.

This has the modern style flashy rioja nose (heavy oak) but the body is much more subdued. Good balance. Mediocre QPR @ $24USD.

A pretty textbook Reserva level Rioja. Tart cherry, incensed cedary wood, vanilla, cigar box, dried herbs including dill. Hyggligt bra

Pale yellow. Muted aromas of lime, orange rind and flowers. Tastes almost like seven-up with a lemon/lime top note over moderately sweet dosage. Well balanced. On sale at Costco for $8. Ridiculous QPR considering the bubbles are produced by bottle fermentation.

Tasting note for 2012 not 2013. Spicy with red fruits and dark chocolate coming through. Tannins also coming through at the end.

In the nose you first perceive the oak and vanilla, some red fruit notes appears. He has a bold body, is slightly tanic and most dry with a good acidity level which is refreshing. In the second phase he develop notes of cherry, pepper, leather and dark fruit. In general a good piece of Spain
