Dark garnet in color with slight bricking at the edge. Aromas of dried cherries, cassis, red licorice, leather, and garrigue on the nose. Tastes of cherries and white pepper on the palate. Medium to full-bodied with chalky tannins. This rustic Gigondas had a great nose with wonderful texture on the palate.

Best vintage of this wine yet, and, sadly, our last bottle. Still quite powerful, with quite strong tannins and vibrant acidity. If you have more bottles and a cool cellar, age it for a couple more years. Dark cherry, coffee, cinnamon, and horehound candy on the nose. Fairly lush mouthfeel. Still a very dark purple. Fresh and mostly unformed nose of blackberry and powdered rocks. Medium-bodied with hot gravel/crushed rocks and black raspberries on the palate. Really shows the quality of 2010. Savory/umami character reminiscent of high altitude Rioja. Quite tannic, with good acidity, the spice/potpourri element wells up on the finish. Vibrant dark color, reserved nose to start, but developed beautifully over 45 minutes to reveal dark cherries, violets and spice. Very classy, in a restraint way. Will drink well for 5-10 years

Medium/dark violet with minimal clearing. Medium(+) aromas of mixed red/blue/black fruit with underlying garrique/ smoke with a little menthol. Full palate of red/black cherry backed by meat/ smoke. Medium(+) tannins which do not appear fully integrated, and medium(+) acidity. ETOH high as expected, and is dominant, which is really only complaint. Appears to be improving based on my noted from previous bottles, unfortunately my last one.

Medium dark garnet color with clearing at rim. Medium(+) intensity aromas of sweetish red/black fruit with meat/leather. Secondary aromas of dried herbs and anise. Much more complex and stronger aromas than last bottle. Medium(+) tannins which dominate the palate. Medium acidity with high alcohol. This is a much different wine than the last bottle I tasted. Will wait two yrs before opening the last bottle, tannins were really dominant today, maybe it was my mood?
