Dehesa de los Canónigos Ribera del Duero

A lot of oak (perhaps a little too much) and very high alcohol at 15.5%. So it's a fruit bomb and a stereo-typical new-world blend from Ribera del Duero. It's mostly Tempranillo but the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are very well integrated and force it work; despite the heavy oak. Fine grain tannin and a savory mid-palate leads to a lengthy finish which tastes of loamy soil, powdered cinnamon and dark chocolate.
