Through the Heart of France; 11/17/2013-11/25/2013 (Centre, Aubrac, Languedoc and Paris) : Copper golden color. Unctuous fig, molasses and grilled nuts. Great acidity slices through the richness, and it really evoked a rich Madeira. This was a terrific glass of dessert wine.

A gently sweet dessert wine, with notes of golden apple, caramel, and some oxidative nuttiness. Elegantly aged and integrated. No trace of Muscat aroma here (although that's the traditional grape for wines from this region), so I suspect this is some other blend, possibly grenache blanc. Would make a great blue cheese pairing, or with any fruit or caramel-based dessert. :: Spring Restaurant, Paris 11/2013
