DuMol pinots really age well, but this is even better than most. Medium red, slightly opaque. Great ripe fruit on the nose - raspberry, cherry, charcoal. Full body on the palate with a silky mouthfeel, sour cherry, ripe strawberry, a hint of mint. Rather long finish. Wine was better on its own than with food. This is a standout DuMol and still has a few years left. I love this wine.

This wine is drinking great now. Ripe strawberry on the nose and red fruit and cherry on the palate. Not sure how much more this wine will evolve but fabulous now.

Drinking beautifully now; nice dark red berry notes; slight hint of vanilla; complimented a salmon perfectly. Much more to give, though I am not sure where this will head. Great representation of DuMol Pinot.

Really annoying how these corks always break. I took my time opening this one and now understand what causes it. The corks are too long and expand below the neck with age. As such, impossible to pull wtihout breaking. The wine? Great, fresh fruit with qell-integrated oak and aged notes developing.

Rich ruby red. Dramatic and engaging aromas of wild berry, cherry vanilla and earth. Sillky and long, this is elegant, alouring stuff. Plenty of fruit, earth and herbs lead to a long, big, fine finish. A wine that is attractive with or without food.

A really fine example of Sonoma Pinot Noir. This was tasted alongside a Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret Echezeaux GC and more that held its own, but definitely a sweeter fatter wine.

Consumed at the Ferry House in Princeton, NJ; pop and pour. In the glass, dark reddish-purple with a deep, dark red core. On the nose, a beguiling mix of pinot spice, flowers, and tea leaves. On the palate, notes of dark cherries, nutmeg and a touch of cinnamon, forest earth, and a good dose of acidity and some unresolved tannins. Just an amazing nose on this wine. Cherries, tea, smoke, spring flowers, underbrush...wow...right out of the bottle too. Decanted for about 2 hours...palate was huge but balanced...tons of fruit and balanced out with just enough fine tannins and acid. I have one more of these beauties and am looking for more.

Jim Laube rated the '03 Ryan a classic and gave this a score in the low 90s, but I believe he's got his vintages backwards.
