Henri de Villamont Chambertin-Clos de Bèze

This is rather silky on the entry, and with moderate lift to the nose. A very correct, and enjoyable Chambolle in its own right. Some orange rind, sour cherries, fresh roses, and touch of reduction. Tannins though are rather persistent (borderline being rough) and dusty. More oomph to the nose and a less aggressive finish would have put this a notch higher.

Still needs more time.

Moderate ruby in the glass. Some development on the nose here already in the forms of dried mushroom, forest floor, dried cranberry, but also a ton of fresh fruit still. Medium-bodied with moderate acidity and just a brush of tannins. Good development and some life ahead here.

Fine if a bit firm upon opening. With a couple hours air opened up quite nicely with some sous bios, mushroom and sour cherry notes on the nose. Palate was well crafted if a bit sharp and thin on the mid palate. Quite pleasant and fresh—if uninteresting. Maybe caught in an in between stage. Best to hold a few more years.

Beautiful, and has matured well. Keep in cellar for another few years

Great burgundy. Layer after layer of fresh red fruit lingering in your mouth with a butterscotch kick. Some bitter notes prevents a higher score and maybe a few more years will mellow those out.

Lyon Tasting - Terre de Vins (Lyon Palais de la Bourse) : Decent potential but a bit disjointed today. Needs time to come together. 89 today but potential for a 92.
