Wine that in the future will reach 100 points. A masterpiece that you just have to be patient to wait. This is the real Langa with the capital letter.

The selection with respect to the basic Barolo is felt. More structure, more weight in the mouth

Day 2. Nose- Red fruits, spices, cedar, truffles Palate- big tannins, spices, sweet red fruits, some black cherries, lots of structure in a full body with medium acidity & some truffles. Starting to close up after opening up a bit yesterday. A big wine that needs plenty of cellar time, but has loads of potential. Could be an extraordinary 100 point wine given the proper time?

A monstrous wine, I quote one of the friends with whom I drank the bottle 'This is a wine that has seen the future and will dominate any fashion'

100 potential points for sure at about 10 years from now. Huge version of Barolo from one of the best wineries .Double decanted about 5 hours before tasted 😋. Drink it beside Conterno Barolo Riserva Monfortino 2008 and it was brave till the end

Tough, hard and tannic. Too young. Wait 10 years.

Stunning. Rose petal, orange peel, red cherry, tar, spice, and crushed rock on a haunting, lifted nose. Medium-bodied and incredibly precise, with gorgeous Nebbiolo perfume, refined tannins and bright acidity. Tremendous persistence. This has all the structure one would expect from a great Barolo accompanied with unusual complexity and grace. For me, it stands with Haut-Brion 2016 as a 100-point wine, though the two are great in very different ways: Haut-Brion is darker, smokier, and more monumental; Giacosa is more …

I was well and truly all over the place with this wine. It is a towering wine that’s almost entirely impenetrable. It took a full 3 days before it finally opened up. However, once it did, it was worth it. That being said, a wine that begs to be let alone at this stage. I’ll give mine another 5 years, at minimum, before even thinking of revisiting.

Epic version. At the moment it is an infanticide, but in 10-15 years it will be one of the best Red Labels produced. 100 potential points.

This is a powerful Barolo, though way too young now. It opens with lots of fruits—blackberries and black cherries—and hints of iron, rust, and a touch of truffle underneath. The tannins are very high, dominate the palate, and the acidity is bracing and very high too. It’s a great traditional Barolo that needs at least another 5 years to start showing its real potential. The structure is there, the intensity is there, and great things are surely to come. Long …

Bruno Giacosa Current Release Tasting (Knightsbridge - Northbrook IL) : Walkaround tasting. From magnum. So much here, and then some. A real backward powerhouse with black and red cherry, spices coming and going, and very firm tannins in the middle, opening up wildly on its long finish. This will be a beauty in 20 years.

My goodness! This is an absolute complete wine! This is not even a Riserva. This white label has the purest of red fruit, it is not weighty, I detect red cherry and black cherry, spices that you would find in a bakers kitchen, tar, flower petals, rose petals, mineral, clay, sun baked pebbles. At only four years old, this wine is riveting, and it is a quintessential power without weight wine. It has such texture, and such mouthfeel/presence; I love …

Giacosa Bruno Barolo Falletto Vigna Le Rocche Riserva 2016 Holy crap Batman this is an incredible knockout wine and H2H with the 2019 Barbaresco was a match made in wine heaven (that’s where I feel the sediment goes we don’t end up drinking). 32 months aging in barrels. What an incredible wine but needs to go Napa nap for a decade. Does this style of Barolo get any better? Absolutely no idea but this is one of the top I …

Drunk at La Rosa dei Vini in Serralunga d'Alba. Surprisingly mature and approachable for a relatively young Barolo. Dark red brown. Brooding nose of dark fruit, molasses, pipe tobacco and leather. The palate is thick with chocolate, hung game and firm tannins. Really superb.

Wine Spectator 40th Anniversary; 10/21/2021-10/23/2021 (Marriott Marquis) : Always really beautiful and elegant wines. There's a delicateness to this that is really something. Like what she is doing.

Light medium ruby color. Medium nose of red fruits and cedar. Dry, bracing acidity, tight tannins, palate follows through. Medium body. Ok balance. Medium finish. Too young and closed, needs to rest for many years.

On the nose, the wine opened with dark red and black cherries, sweet baking spices, licorice, orange peel & fresh green herbs. It's dark, a bit spicy, and has a nice freshness. On the palate, there is a wave of dark red cherry fruit, and some sweet spices join towards the finish. There is a lot of tannic heft as the wine enters, suggesting a rustic but very powerful wine, but it falls off and there's a lack of follow …
