Fading at rim but looks very young, Herbal nose, violets, Tannins now quite relaxed, black cherry, spice, cinnamon, lots of purity. Ageing gracefully though I don't think it will get any better.

Had the 13 of this one too and I feel like maybe the freshness is falling away a little on this one.

Broad, intense nose with mint on top of sous bois and dust. Bramble berries, gravel, soy and citrus zest. A bit short, but it's hard to notice. A delicious wine that is drinking well right now.

A really strong Syrah from a flavor standpoint, but lighter on its feet. Lower alcohol content for a Syrah at 13.5, with a strong character on the nose. Meaty Syrah on first taste with some menthol that blew off soon. A cool experience, but at this price point, not a value.

Pop and pour drunk over 2 nights. Dark, inky color, purple edge. Nose - spicy, dried green herbs. Medium bodied. Initially bright red fruits, raspberry jam, then pepper and quite meaty. Acidity keeping it fresh and long. The raspberry jam element subsided, still medium bodied and good balance. Fared well on night 2, a little more rounded and together. Very good.

Black pepper poured on top of a steak slathered in mixed berry jam. Fantastic effort!

Yum. Very distinctive and intense nose of caper berries and black olive. Elegant northern Rhone style. Gononesque. Delicious with lamb. Could use more complexity and depth but maybe that will come.

Such pepper! Hail pepper! But lots of other stuff going on here, too. Juicy black currants mixed with earth, mushroom, spice - a bold but elegant Syrah - and a great way to finish a beautiful tasting.

Dripping with meat and pepper tones. Incredibly exotic syrah that has such intensity of old world tones, feels almost a bit like a caricature. Here's what I know. I poured myself three separate small glasses of this because it was so unique and pungent. Didn't have the elegance of the great Northern Rhones, but showed some really interesting character.

Love it. An amazing bottle of wine that is elegant, well balanced and supple. This is a Syrah with elegance, class and great depth.

Very rich with a touch more complexity compared to the "Brown Label", less fruit forward on the nose with notes of grilled herbs, smoke, spices. Still lots of ripe cherry fruit. On the palate more mineral, quite right, a bit of heat but decent acidity. Very good length. A bit heavy. 89-90+
