Brilliantly balanced, with plenty of primary fruit and not showing a hint of its 15.5% abv - blind I'd have called this as $100+ Napa Cab

Spectacular! Really in a great place right now, never heavy, nicely balanced and plenty of fruit left but starting to show lots of secondary nuance.

I bought this on the estate and carefully cellared for years. It poured as deep blood red with a wonderful crimson reveal. On close inspection almost imperceptible signs of browning age. A little spice and cedar on nose. Red and plummy fruit. A sour cherry finish with a tiny bit of olive. Beautifully and surprisingly taut. Not big but balanced. Vibrant acids still apparent. Really really good. A gift.

- Garnet color - Disappointing. High alcohol permeating. Lack of fruit. Does not materially improve with airing.

typical mature bordeaux blend colour. Mid red and rown tinges. Leafy cabernet nose, a bit astringent and dusty. Green notes on palate and dusty tannins. lacks vigour and balance. A bit tired and dissappointing.

What a pleasant surprise - a rumage through the darkest depths of my cellar getting ready for Christmas and I find a wine I thought I had finished long ago - this was heady perfume on the nose and on the palate delivered a heady brew of licqourice blackcurrant and tarry parma violet - good tannic support and a decent finish - a very nice find indeed

last bottle from my cellar and a very solid effort indeed from a half case that has seen significant bottle variation - dark with little sign of ageing on the rim - definite hint of raspberry within the fruit mix on the palate - will probably drink well for several years yet - possibly a tad over-extracted and high alcohol may have led to bottle variation but overall a lovely wine and one of SA's best Cab's

Wine Education Service - Bordeaux Style (Imperial College) : Muted fruit aromas. Fruity, peppery, oaky, tannic, intense, smooth, easy to drink now.
