Has aged well. Last time i recall the fruit was intense and the wine crisp. This time it has softened and was very smooth without losing the fruit. Would like to see how ten years treats this wine. Recommended.

Outstanding and generous full-bodied Chardonnay that displays enticing and opulent flavors. Luxurious golden honey color with scents of tropical fruit basket and grated nutmeg. Glorious crème brulee entry flows towards wonderful characteristics of almond brioche, vanilla cone and buttered baked apple pie crust. An exotic mix of cinnamon stick and pears are woven together at mid-section gliding into an engaging, round finish marked by oak shadings and graham cracker. All the rich and lavish tastes are held in check with …

Complex, buttery, creamy, oak and vanilla, golden yellow. Hard to place the fruit component ands there were several fruits present. I would say peach came across but this was so well balanced that no one fruit stood out over another. Legs ran fairly quick as well.

Grilled pineapple, brioche, mango cream. Delicious, though dropped off just a tad at the end. First glass was the best of the bottle. Drink now.

A fantastic oaky chardonnay. If you want clean and natural go elsewhere. If you want loads of oak and butter, this is your chardonnay

Really enjoyed this with lobster ravioli. Cloudy and golden in the glass. Wonderfully clean and crisp. Great acidity. Nose of smoke, minerals, and citrus. Full bodied and not over-oaked.

Slightly disappointing. Straight wood to the mouth (NTTAWWT). Totally over-oaked. Alchol is definitely coming through. The only flavor you can kind of pick up is some pear, but everything else is wood. Definitely have to give some credit for the lush mouthfeel. Outrageous mid palete, but the finish is all oak. WS definitely got a little out of hand giving this a 94, this can easily be replicated.

K&L Charity Event. Nose of pitted fruit, oak, touch of moist earth and fruit cocktail juice, more of same on the palate, big body, mouth coating and mouth filling, best chardonnay today, medium/big body, long, lovely finish.

Excellent cali chard. Not too much oak and a host of flavours which give the wine vibrancy. There was a little heat trying to break through which in turn turned the wine just slightly lopsided in balance. Not the best Lewis chard, but a good effort all the same.

Hanging With Stevie N and The OC Gang, Doing It Blind (Antanello's In Costa Mesa (Orange County)) : As opposed to the 2005 Reserve that preceded this wine in the same flight, this 2007 was quite different and would seemed to have been cut from a different cloth. Smoky nose, alomost with a sugar cookie note. Mineral, pear, medium body with great balance and even length. My wine of the flight and a wine that was classy and well done.

Steve's Blind Tasting (Antonello Ristorante - Costa Mesa, CA) : Sprightly and airy notes of orange blossoms, tangerines, nectarines, mango, and sea spray. Refreshing on the palate, with amazing purity and elegance. Very impressive and tied for my WOTN. 93-94 points.

The Generosity of Steve Nordhoff Blind (Antonello Ristorante) : Wow, what a huge departure for Lewis. Winemaker change? Nose of lemons and minerals. This was still rich and big but not too much or overdone. Clean without overt signs of oak or extra malo ferment. I thought it was an Aubert. If this is the future of Lewis then they are worth putting back on people's radar.

A full bodied Chardonnay that saw extended fermenting sur lies. Not too tight, and with decent fruit for such a viscous Chardonnay. Lots of glycerin on the palate. 92-94 points.
