Plums, chocolate, cherry, floral notes, lovely elegant enticing nose Poised and graceful, long and lingering, undulating, layered, and engaging; gentle gradual finish; subtle but succulent; not especially powerful but quite beautiful and delightful After 2 Hours: Nose is more integrated, boysenberry; it is also more integrated on the palate; simple and sensuous, delightful and enticing

Dekantert. Noe varm, alkohol, 14,5%. Drikker pent, men har nok mer i vente. Samme dag 2, selv om den roet noe ned.

Decanted and back into the bottle for an hour - Clear mahogany at the core, with light bricking at the rim. Dusty mocha, sweet tobacco, blueberry, leather, clove, dry gravel, and some light Indian spices on the nose. Palate carries over, with sweet mocha and berry highlights. Tannins are soft bristles, body is round, but acidity and body could be a touch higher... still, quite good! This is probably just beginning my ideal window, though it could evolve a bit …

This is a very varietal East Bank Bordeaux with Merlot dominating the flavor profile. The body is medium and it has a very mellow consistency. The structure is more round than angular. This wine is still mostly in its primary phase. It's a very good wine considering it's from an average vintage.

Pomerol through and through. Mocha, truffle, chocolate covered cherries. Cherry, cherry, and more cherry. You can really get the darker cab franc notes and tannins as well. I do think it's in a middle age phase, so a few years might allow a bit more tertiary notes out. Only nitpick is the mid palate is a bit lacking for a pomerol.

Was wanting to drink something a step above the Bordeaux I've been drinking lately so went with this lovely 10 year old Pomerol. Per the label, 78.3% Merlot and 21.7% CF. Plush, silky, and smooth with great complexity. blackberry, blueberry, dark chocolate, forest floor cigar box, caramel. I need to drink more Pomerol.

Give this a good decant or better yet, open and then wait a day or two. Distinctively Pomerol. Beautiful roundness once it settles.

Oh boy this one was a stunner... Beautiful ripe berry nose. Deep, dark cherry fruit, tobacco, leather, Absolutely unbelievable texture, plush and velvety, yet balanced by a surprising acidity. It's generosity is the only hint that this is 25 years old, as it shows zero bricking and the tannins and the fruit are still strong. This can go on for decades.

Two hour double decant, followed by a two hour slow ox. Very very deep ruby color, with a hint of a rusty rim. Blueberry pudding, black cherry, thyme, and subtle mushroom and chocolate syrup. Smooth, dry palate. Firm, lower intensity tannins on the longish finish. This was better than I expected. There was a richness about it. It was served at a party at my house, with barbecue.

Was pleased upon opening this second bottle, as I had the hunch my first bottle was very slightly flawed. Showing some light brick color and resolved tannins with dark fruit, early tertiary phase. This could go for another few years although I wouldn’t hold for 15+ years as some other reviews suggest as it is beginning to lose some of the structure.

Full of plums, chocolate, espresso, flowers, black cherries, and plums in the nose, and on the concentrated palate, the wine is soft, lush, ripe, round, and ready to deliver its pleasures. Drink from 2025-2035.

Violets, lilacs, wild cherries, truffle, plum, and chocolate open the heady perfume. Concentrated, and rich on the palate, the wine is plush, and polished with gorgeous layers of fruit, and chocolate that linger. Drink from 2025-2050.

Zeer geconcentreerd.

Double decanted about an hour before regular wine group meeting. France theme with all wines served blind. After the slopped shoulder bottles this was the second Bordeaux shape to try. The bottle age with this one was noted by all, but the estimates were about half of the actual age. Just a pleasure to drink and am thinking it will hold for a while.

Tastes very much like a well aged Bordeaux. Rose hips, dark cherry cola, plums, beef and leather flavors. A perfect accompaniment to tonight's hearty home made beef stew. This is what old school/old style Pomerol is all about. The Clos d'Eglise website rates this vintage as 94.

Beautiful dark garnet, almost no bricking. Looks like a young wine! On the nose, the glass offers dried leaves and something floral - perhaps faint rose. There is only a little bit of dried fruit left, secondary earthy flavors dominate including mild oak, leather, and rose hips. The finish features pleasant and grippy tannins. Medium body and acidity. Excellent with burgers. However, I recommend immediate consumption.

Double decanted for regular wine group. Previous bottle had massive sediment. and lots of fine sediment. Left behind 2-3 ounces. Big help not having some of that fine sediment. Great showing for the wine outside on a warm day. Going strong, easily recognizable as wonderful wine on the nose, through the pallet but with secondary notes. Have two more and am not in a hurry.

I note the mixed reviews below, and I fall on the side that loved this. Served with ribeye. I agree first night (2 hour decant) this was very tight, with tanins and acidity dominating the fruit. Second night, served with pasta, this blossomed. Wonderfully fragrant and well balanced. Evolved from tart dark cherries to finishing ripe cherries and dark fruit, with graphite and dark earth background. Maybe 90+ first night, easily 95+ second night.

An easy afternoon with close friends; Bordeaux 2015 (@ FD) : Beautiful bouquet, dark and red berries, beautifully dosed oak, bacon and a bit rustic. On the palate very juicy black berries like blackberries, beautiful acidity, a light touch of sweetness and round tannin with a good bite. Already delicious and a feast, but plenty of future. Fantastic wine!

Pop and pour! Absolutely delicious! No decant, but I will echo what’s been said: short life, drank bottle with 1.5 hours and the best was in the beginning. Medium body, fruits, dark. It paired perfectly with Camembert cheese, bagget, dry Italian salami. It was a wonderful experience. Drink or hold. Was it worth $100+ ? That’s relative. For me it absolutely was.

When I opened I was excited, nice sweet bordeaux blend nose. 2 hours later the palate was weak. Don't get me wrong, it was decent. The merlot/cab franc is nice but.. thin. In this price range you expect more. It may be my palate, but give me a Nickel & Nickel state ranch cab for $20.00 less, or a high end Andrew Will blend, and you get way more bang for your money, richness, depth and better quality. We paired this with Christmas dinner of roast beef tenderloin. I'd agree with a prior reviewer that it felt a bit disjointed. Tannins are still strong on the front end but the back end gives way to alcohol, making it feel out of whack. In the middle, however, were some very good flavors - plum, cassis, pine. Still enjoyable, but I'd like to try this one in a more well regarded vintage.

Decanted half a bottle for Day 1. Drunk the remaining half bottle (resealed with Repour) on Day 3 without decanting. Both tasted the same but with a touch of alcohol showing on Day 3. Full body, beautiful color, beautiful nose, very concentrated, smooth tannin, very refined, drinking beautifully. It was a very decadent wine with lots of chocolate and mooca mixed in with fruits. This was my thought of a Pomerol should be.

If I've ever had a Clos l'Eglise before, I don't remember it. I might have been missing out, as this is a stellar Pomerol. It's slick and dark-fruited like a black leather jacket but the velvety texture and slender figure display pure merlot elegance. Those deep, black fruits make up the front-end veneer but toss it around a little bit and it pops with an array of classic Pomerol plateau character spanning black truffles, botanicals, and just a little bit …

Outstanding Merlot/Cabernet Franc (80/20% +/_) blend. In the glass, deep cherry/cranberry red color, which is nearly opaque. Aromas of blackberries, plums, leather and hint of tobacco. 2hr decant at cellar temp. This wine did not pair well with steak. Oak is still present on the nose, but the fruit is muted. Acid is high. Overall this felt a bit disjointed. It was ok, but would I guess this was aged Bordeaux if served blind? No.

The 2000 Clos L'église was the poster child for the importance of decanting wines in their prime. For sience I drank this wine over 2 days. The first day I poured half the bottle in a decanter and placed the wine with a vacuum cap straight in the fridge. For the first hour the wine was closed and very barnyard-y which concerned me but I pressed on. After an hour or so the wine really opened up and revealed a …

Slightly disjointed from the bottle; poured into a decanter for 20 minutes and it was singing. Reflects a deep ruby core with garnet edges. Red currants, savory plums, leafy tobacco, shoe leather, rich espresso, and red rocks infused in loamy soil. Structure is well intact with tannins, oak, and acid almost fully integrated. Nice balance, emerging complexity, intense flavors, and a long ending. Enjoyed with grilled lamb chops, asparagus, and rosemary garlic new potatoes. Drink through 2028.

Picked up this bottle from Total Wines, 1hr decant, drank half of the bottle over 2hrs period, giving the wine good enough time in the glass as well. Color is medium red, as expected from primarily Merlot blend. Close to 8 years but still lots of color. On the nose, I got mostly fruits, nice black fruits and hints of casis, nothing more (for now).
