A spice laden nose showing a hint of aniseed and some sarsaparilla root. It has a deep, penetrating core of black cherry fruit. It is rich, powerful and layered but light on its feet. It has such great presence and energy and is a thing of sheer beauty.

Ah, the juice. Extremely young, rich, polished with plentiful elegant fruit and a good acidity. It is a small crime to open this now, surely it's hands off for another ten years, #IB

Offers up something new and engaging with every sniff and sip. There are notes of cranberry, cherry, mineral and white flowers. It is so silky and sensual, and flavours have brilliant intensity and power without undue weight. Length of flavour is phenomenal. A complex and ethereal wine that is simply brilliant.

I report white smoke. Another perfect bottle yet. In the context of the weekend where we enjoyed Comte Liger Belair Reignots 07 09 and 10, Mugnier Musigny 09, DRC Tache 96 and GE 99 and this coming out on top comfortably I have no qualm or hesitation of awarding triple digits. This is flirting with perfection. The nose draws you in with the perfume of rose petals, aniseed, black cherries and fresh lilies. It has a cool centre and is complex, layered and expansive. There’s latent power, exquisite balance and proportion a lacy, sensual texture and length to burn. Simply wonderful.

Showing great polish early, having already largely dealt with its wood treatment. That being said, not worth touching for 15+ years. 97+

Tasted at the Domaine from bottle. Whoa. My first modern La Romanee and now I get why values are where they are. Incredible spice and detail on the nose. Decant 2 hours. The nose is simply great wine, elegant, beautiful, waiting to be sth being the same like Jayer's Cros Parantoux. Texture is dense, structure is splendid. Firm and perfect balance !!! Aftertaste is unique so special. It takes me up in the air and following by another 2 impacts. Great wine !!!
