Deep purple and garnet color. First sip seemed tart but that blew off after decanting and it turned out to be a harmonious well made lovely wine. Richly textured deep blackberry flavors, soft tannins. Impressive.

Had some extra Asiamiles points so got these for "free", probably at the equivalent of $30 USD per bottle? Blackcurrant, some plums, licorice, some lead pencil though not excessive, some vegetal notes. The vegetal notes disappeared on the second day when it became much more balanced. Typical Margaux overall. Medium plus finish, medium plus acidity. Pairs nicely with even heavier meat dishes. Good wine at the right price. Can hold for a couple more years.

This is the 3rd wine of Ch. Brane-Cantenac, after the grand vin, and Le Baron de Brane. Tasted in a very famous brasserie in Paris, because the cheaper „Haut-Medic AOC“ 2021 was not consumable (and therfore returned after one zip), and the better Bordeaux were way too expensive. Since the vintage 2019 is generally very good, I went for a 3rd wine of a Château for the first time in my life - for 86€ the bottle… Nice ruby colour. …

Silky smooth, delicate, soft, and polished, this gentle, medium-bodied wine is refined, with a core of currants, and cherries with freshness in the end note. This is a perfect wine for ordering in a bistro or cafe. This is the new 3rd wine from Brane Cantenac. 2025-2032.

Bold with a bit of a smoky character to it. Easy does it now. If youthful.

Picked from the wine list at Melvyn’s Palm Springs, this was a great selection. Delicious dark fruit, hint of lead, with some tannins and density.

Still a lovely BDX but ample tannins in the finish Grilled steak and pasta were a good match. Could easily wait a few years for the next bottle, well worth the $30.

This is really good stuff Had it in Zalto Bordeaux and Grassl Cru which performed the best. The wine was decanted for 3 hours and really starts to open up after 4-5 hours. Made Gullasch and match was perfect. The notes from the wine goes around black berry , blueberry , balsamic vinegear....so delicious.

Exquisite performance by 2. Cru Classé Château Brane-Cantenac - it’s third wine - for this week’s #Bordeaux2024 - wisely selected upon in-store advice @ Bichel in CPH. The Margaux de Brane (v22, 14% ABV) - is precise, fine-spun & spotlessly fruit-forward - drinkable grace! Violet-garnet, darkish core, purple rims. It opens w inviting pure cassis aromas lent complexity by graphite, cherries, plums & cedar notes. Fruit-driven, m+-bodied, minerals, proportionate grainy tannins & acids, youthful, juicy & dense close!

Purple color. Nose has cherry, black plum, blackberry, vanilla, and a bit of green growth. Nice, slightly sweet attack (on the edge of being juicy). Balanced acidity and tannins. Black fruit on the palate, with dried fruit (cherry, figs) on the finish. This is drinking nicely now.

Deep ruby colour. Medium and developing nose with red plum, eucalyptus, black pepper and licorice. Medium taste of red plum, blackberry, black cherry, eucalyptus, black pepper and licorice. Medium long and dry finish. Medium acidity. Medium tannins. Medium body. A very good Margaux that has matured well. Drink now or over the next five years. Goes well with beef or lamb.

A lot of vegital notes when first opened. It even tastes almost sweet at first and then the beautiful tannins wash it away. Blackberry, blueberry notes. It seems like this is lacking some body in the front. Tannis weigh it down on the finish

A shy nose of black fruits, tobacco, clove and earthy components. Most of the fine aromatics are hiding behind the big and opaque structure for now. Dry but dense palate which is still tight and clean. Finish is taut with firm tannins. Need to wait for 3 more years for the wine to open up and soften. Retasted in Mar 2024. Inky black fruits and earthy spices on the nose, more open than 2 years old. The palate is elegant …
