shared with pat at selkirk manor. have been following this wine since 2016. some earlier bottles showed awkwardly. when last tasted the wine had come together and was showing nice fruit, balance and structure. no formal notes for current bottle. significant sedimentation. bottle had to be decanted and strained. overall, it showed well. will drink remaining bottles over the next year.

Opaque, almost black, with just a thin red cherry-skin fringe. The nose begins a little vegetal, yet showing stewed fruit simultaneously. A little Port-like, but then it becomes something of a cross between beetroot and plum, with some partially-dried grass aromas. Medium to fullish body, but unpleasantly dilute and weedy with the first few sips. Improves to show good concentration, but this wine is short and simple, well below the quality of the subsequent vintage. Good plus.
