Arômes tertiaires: sous bois, fruits rouges compotés, gibier léger. Encore un peu de tanins. Il faut le boire.

An undeniably seductive nose and initial attack on the palate makes this a crowd pleaser at a group meal. Dark crimson color, followed by a significant waft of strawberry, blackberry and moist sous bois penetrating the first senses. And the first few tastes do provide a rich center core, medium to heavier viscosity and that nice evidence of wine making with care. But then a 3/4 finish clips the sense. And after 20 minutes, a narrow dimensionality and jammy notes …

very good example of this appelation. Good balance and concentration. Not very complex but delicious. No need to hurry, this will hold for another 2-5 years.

This is the best wine from the the Marsannay i have had. All in tune, great red/blue fruits, a touch of earth and leather. Velvet palate, shorter on the finish. Fantastic village wine. +++

the dark ruby colour gives it away: 2009 a warm vintage with ripe grapes. On the nose, it's a bouquet of black fruits and on the palate, med+ acidiy, fruits(black here again), tannins and alcohol. Good weight and persistance, nice concentration. Very modern. Really good village wine from a good winemaker.

Marsannay er normalt den av Meo's viner som først blir drikkeklar. Denne er intet unntak. Overaskende lett til å være 2009, men delikat og fin og ikke plagsomt med eik som Meo var "beryktet" noen år tidligere.

Medium ruby. Liqueur-like black cherry fruit. Full and shows some alcohol, yet the ripe fruit is cut somewhat by a thread of soil. Rather simple and veering toward a New World style.

pretty clear garnet color, wonderful red fruits on the nose, good lift, structured, soulful, displays dark energy, dry, rustic cherry and stones on the palate, earthy background, almost a smoky characteristic on the finish, hitting an opening now, structured to age as well

Clear garnet red. Nose very faint in opening (and with some air). Very tight on the palate, too. Some dark red fruit and woody vanilla, but generally unyielding after short term air. Softens a bit to dark cherry and eucalyptus. Clearly plenty of time left, but will drink well now with food and a good decanting.

13.5% abv. Dark cherry/cerise color; nearly opaque. Shows some viscosity. Cherries on the nose with a faint hint of violets. A little tart but with a pleasant finishing note. Light to medium body. Suggestion of lanolin which I more often detect in white Burgundies--in fact, this is the first time I've noted it in a red wine. This was enjoyable with a baked chicken main dish and leftover ratatouille. (A number of years ago I met Monsieur Jean Nicolas Meo …

Nose fairly non-existing, some dark fruit. Taste full of black fruit and cherries, mineral, sweet tannins, fresh. This is balanced with a nice amount of acidity, much more than I had expected based on experiences of wine writers. Very good, already drinking well now, will improve.

Cellar Visit: Meo-Camuzet (Vosne Romanée) : Good fruit with a touch of creamy, spicey oak. Decent body, oaky, a touch lighter on the finish. ***

Meo-Camuzet Cellar Visit and Tasting (Vosne-Romanee - Burgundy) : Barrel tasting at Domaine. Racked one week prior. From neutral barrel. Bright red fruit with quite substantial level of extraction, but still retaining fruit purity. Really good for its level and for a more modern-styled Marsannay.
