This wine is certainly in its mature phase. I will probably enjoy the rest before their 10th birthdays.

Medium red with pale edge. Smokey, leather, red fruited - mature nose. Sour cherry, raspberry, enough weight for the tannin. Hmmm, this is the first bottle to indicate this has reached its peak, according to me. Lovely with dinner.

Gently fruity, forest floor. Medium body, mature fruit and leather. Seems like a new phase, with less obvious fruitiness.

Blind tasting: 2012 Thibault Liger Belair Moulin à Vente Vielles Vignes: Dark red. An expressive raspberry and cherry nose. On the palate the fruit is fresh and concentrated raspberry and grape. The tannin on the finish is chalky and seemed even more so in the last glass. Finishing flavours include wood. 2013 Villa Ponciago Hauts du Puy: Dark ruby red. Deeply scented of raspberry. The palate has rich and sweet red and dark red berry fruit. Bright acid and suave …

Dark red. Dark red fruit nose with a little grape too. Medium body, fresh, sweet red fruits and a little coffee. Medium long finish with enough fruit oomph to hide the tannin but the acid is properly present. This is young and deliciously gulpable.

Wine showed ok, but we were eating and drinking and not paying a lot of attention. VINIFICATION: parcel-by-parcel vinification in small tanks (45 hl). Thorough destalking to remove the very green stalks of the Gamay. Cold maceration followed by a long fermentation (10-15 days) to allow the terroir aromas to emerge. Gentle punching of the cap. MATURING: depending on the vintage, 40% to 60% ageing in oak barrels: 90% in mature oak barrels (1 to 4-years-old) and 10% in new …

Bouchard Père et Fils Cellar Visit, Tasting and Lunch (Beaune) : Tasting at the domaine. Also showing mostly black fruit, more firm vs Fleurie Reserve, with greater density and length. Give some cellar time.

tasting at Bouchard - Selection particulaire. Med dark red. Aromatics on a different level than "la Reserve" - fruit and perfume. Some meat on these strong bones, too. 10% new oak.
