Smells crisp with candle wax. Palate has citrus cut nicely with a tropical fruit note, bit of underripe pineapple too. Good length on this finish. Good value here.

Very enjoyable; pear, apple, peach, and spring floral notes on the nose; fresh and energetic on the palate with good concentration and a lovely finish. Very versatile with food and good value.

Very light white. Not my thing - I don't normally drink Pinot Blanc's (though I do drink other Alsatian wines). Nothing objectionable, but nothing to make it objectionable either. I don't get it.

A nice simple table wine. Hints of tropical fruit. Minimal minearlity. Decent acid and a modest, clean finish that keeps it upright a quaffable, but by no means serious.

Decidedly more interesting than most is the concensus on day two.

Now that is really darn tasty Pinot Blanc. With structure but not leesy or fat and some nice polished acidity to the whole darn thing.

Tasting at Eyrie (McMinnville, Oregon) : Winery tasting. Simple nose has tropical fruit and minerals. Palate is nice and round with bright acid. Citrus zest adds some interest. A pleasant quaffing wine.

Good crisp, clean white with hints of pear. Zesty finish. Still young; could yet develop more aroma. Well made and a good light food accompaniment.

Very different from the 2013. A strange (in an interesting way), sweet, citrus-laden nose. Rich texture and flavor, but with a shimmering, energetic edge that keeps this wine very much alive. Just a tad hot on the finish, but overall the finish is nice and long. Pinot blanc in general, and wines made by Eyrie in particular, always strike me as pretty transparent, so I suppose it was inevitable that this would show the warm year. Maybe this will cohere …

Citrus, floral, mineral, and a round honey/pear aroma. Shows the warmer vintage but is not flabby at all. Lemon custard in the mouth, but fresh, and with rounded edges which I assume come from malolactic fermentation. Rich but also somehow crisp. A very nice wine.

Lychee and hint of nectarine on the nose. Lychee more prominent. Balanced acid and minerality along with the fruit.

Clean orchard and stone fruit flavors. Seems the acidity has receded significantly, and things have become too soft. Drink 'em if you got 'em.

Pacific Northwest Tasting Trip Day 1; 4/4/2012-4/14/2012 ((Willamette Valley & Portland)) : Small taste at the tasting room. Nose of light citrus and minerals. Palate of white grapefruit, funk, and minerals. Finish was below average.

My first Pinot Blanc in a long time. Really enjoyed. Reminded me of a white cdr. Heavy and thick mouthfeel. Lemon, chalk, apples, yeast, and herbs on the nose. Citrus, grapefruit, green apples, beer, and green melon on the palate. Would like to try with Salmon.

Lemon peel and green apples show on the nose with a sharp hit of something tangy. It's soft, with a touch of spice on the mid palate. The apple flavors are light, but full and round. A bit of heat shows on the middle and the fruit fades fairly quickly.
