Vertical at Château de Rayne-Vigneau (sur place) : Barrel sample. 5 months oak. Spice and a little white fruit on the nose. Medium bodied, clean and clear.

Vertical at Château de Rayne-Vigneau (sur place) : Spicy on the nose (quality oak) yet aged in foudres (so not oak heavy). Good midpalate energy, concentration and persistence. Serious length. A lot more than I was expecting :)

Ripe baking pear aromas. Has a little oak component to the palate that mutes the fruit. As always a little slinky palate.

look: very pale yellow smell: pungent apple pear taste: acidic sour pear feel: soft juicy not dry a little tingly finish: long smooth/easy probably would not buy again due to price.

Amsterdam UGCB Tasting (Amstel Boathouse, Amsterdam, NL) : Nice rôti, bitter orange, elegance and depth, delicately sweet, supporting oak, power and elegance, subtle bitters.

The 2018 UGCB tasting Amsterdam 6/21/2021 (Amsterdam, Amstel Boathouse) : Nice, but not distinctive, maybe time will help this wine.

Served with chicken fettuccine with broccoli No for Tara’s birthday dinner. Bought the wine to serve to Tara. It as perfect. Classic sauvignon = wet cement, grapefruit. Wished we could have brought more home.
