The nose has plenty of leather and smoked meats along with cherry and plum fruits. It is a full wine, with a creamy feel. Tannins are ripe and it has decent volume and a savoury finish with a touch of chalkiness.

When I first opened it, there were some weird meaty/funky aromas. 20-30 minutes in the decanter cleared them up, revealing delightful floral and cherry aromas, with an underlying earthy, oaky tone. When first tasted, the tannins were still really strong, but an hour or 2 in the decanter cleared that up - at about an hour, this wine became a delightful, complex, delicious treat. Went perfectly with the grilled sausages and onions I had for dinner.

nice cocktail wine which surprised me for an Italian wine. Enjoyed this with an Italian chicken and pasta with some great Mexican and Spanish influences. This meal had a nice spice level to it but was not over the top and this wine did well with that as well. so either way as a cocktail or with food this wine was nice.

Decanted and finished over 8 hours. After 2 hours, wine still tight as a drum, but it finally opened to be a beautiful Brunello. Sour Cherries popping in your mouth with coffee notes, tar and licorice trailing on the finish. Tasted nice after 2 hours but beautiful at 7-8 hours. Tannins take awhile to resolve. This one should have a nice long life ahead of it.

Nose very muted, but POW! cherries instantly on the front palate, delicious, fresh & demanding another taste to confirm just how delicious & fresh they were.
