Lammershoek, Syrah, Swartland

Drank with Dad to celebrate Mama.

Last bottle from my 6 pack, better than my penultimate bottle. Lovely sour cherry nose with notes of olives and meat. Acidity a little more in balance, but would still recommend consuming remaining bottles to avoid disappointment.

Bouchonnée!

Bottle #5 of a 6 bottle case. Pleasant nose of sour cherries. Acidity more obvious as fruit has faded. Still quaffable but on a clear downslope vs. last bottle consumed in Jan 2019. Drink up!

Hasn't change a lot from last year tasting, bright dark red fruit with medicinal notes, herbal nuance, nice acid backbone adding freshness.

A bottle enjoyed over three nights. At first, smooth soft tannins and red fruit, medium body, mineral edge and long acidity. Nice, but missing a little Syrah spice/complexity.. Went well with rare rump steak and roast carrots. Day two - fruit subsided, spice a bit more prominent. Day three - taken on a 'fortified' aroma, a bit past it now. Very nice, if not spectacular, fresh and clean. Given evolution over three days, would recommend drinking sooner rather than later.

Bu avec Sylvie et Carol samedi soir. Un vin spectaculaire, riche et bien structuré avec une belle pureté et densité de fruit. Un petit tour en carafe d`une heure avant de servir avec un filet de porc sauce moutarde de Meaux et Sriracha. Nez qui embauche les fruits noirs (Mures et bleuets) avec des herbes et des épices. En bouche, c`est soyeux, fruité et fort bien équilibré, l`ensemble est poli et bien ficelé, long et raffiné, une très belle syrah! …

Dîner d'anniversaire pour une Princesse (au Quartier Général) : Un vin spectaculaire, dense, concentré, bonne fraicheur, précision, c'est un peu trop serré en l'état mais très impressionnant. J'ai bien hâte de voir comment ça va évoluer, j'étais sur un Hermitage de Delas....Quelle aubaine! 92 + pts

No formal notes, very good wine, fruit still vibrant and good acid balance. A little puckering effect but nothing aggressive. Good length with echoes of cherries, licorice and dried herbs.

Superbe vin, féminin, au nez funky mais envoûtant rappelant la Côte-Rotie. Grande fraîcheur, acidité prononcée (cerise), il est d'une longueur appréciable et montre tout le potentiel du cépage dans cette région.

Great Swartland syrah from Craig Hawkins - fine tannins - good fruit - clean taste - yum

Surprisingly balanced and agreeable a good wine. Unsure of re-purchase.
