Full aroma of berries with mild wood. Tannin heavy, full bodied, tangy. Plenty of life left in it. I recommend holding it for a few more years. Having said that, still quite enjoyable for a Christmas dinner.

Perfumed nose ruins everything right off the bat, and the flavors bear no resemblance to cab franc as we know and love that grape. More like a thick Nero d'Avola, a grape I dislike, and thus a total disconnect between what it's turned into and the Burgundian-ish wine it started out as all those years ago. Fed it to the rhodies; thank god it's my last bottle.

Nine months since the last bottle we deemed asleep. This time, awake but groggy, lacks lift. Don't think these will get any better; drink up.

Currently asleep. After 24 hours open, it comes around with bright, sassy red fruits that resemble sangiovese more than cab franc. As such delightful but I think I'll wait for more secondary nuance--HOLD.

Still a work in progress. Tasty enough but the hoped-for secondary nuances haven't logged in yet.

Inky dark ruby, iodine on the nose. Dry with medium fruit and body on opening, blackberries with dry tannins and a touch of bitter which fades quickly. Some what restrained and better with some food. Much better than the last bottle which had significant bitter and was used for cooking. This one is considerably better, let's see where it goes over the next couple of nights. Not getting the bell pepper which detracted from the previous bottle. A couple hours …

July's bottle was so Burgundian--lighter than a typical New World cab franc with more cherry pie and less herbs. This one was much denser, and more herbal. Not bad, just more change than one would expect in three months. Hmmm....

Unfortunately, I neglected to read my previous note to hold a few more years. Very herbaceous and primary now. Finally after a week open, it's starting to become drinkable for me. The pronounced vegetive bell pepper is starting to moderate. I like a more reserved wine and this is far from that.

Possibly the purest cab franc I may have ever had. No new oak, no new world ripeness, just the bright red fruit, herbs and spice of cab franc with the minerality of Gorge fruit and sublety of medium body. Heavenly aromatics--drinks best out of a burgundy glass.

This is very good Cab Franc. Made in a fairly restrained style that lets the more herbal and wild notes in the variety come out and play nicely with the red cherry and dark raspberry fruit. Good now, will continue to be good for 3-5 more years.

Inky dark purple with a light nose of iodine and cassis. Dry with a strong green pepper, needs more time to mellow a bit. Medium fruit and body, some steely mineral with a hint of bitter. Given a few more days with little improvement on the bitter green pepper which is too pronounced for me at this time. Starting to show better with a few more days open on the counter. Hold for a couple more years.
