Lake George Winery Pinot Noir

Agree that this improved and filled out on the second day. Typical RRV flavors of tangy cherry and cola.

Picked this up at Costco to start my Pinot discovery journey for $25.50. Day one..88...seemed thin and tinny...no decant. Day two...beautiful, silky, fruitful, smooth finish. Will pick up a few more of this grape.

W/ Julia & Reid. Too light bodied. Thin and crisp cherry tart. Will not rebuy. 2009 was a great buy.

On day two kinda picking up steam.

Excellent RRV pinot, bright red fruit, medium-full bodied, a little earthy.

Picked up this bottle at Costco on sale for $25. What a pleasant surprise, this was a full flavored smooth Pinot about medium body. It was hard to put down after every sip. Part of a tasting, no formal notes.

Pinot-Con (The WineSellar & Brasserie, San Diego, CA) : N: CLOSED, but toast atop berries? P: Med body; RNDISH entry with ALMOST swtish frt fairly quickly met by an astringent pucker that morphs into a LONG, spicy, BITTER/swt, finely tannic finish. Could stand another 12-18 mos, though I'm not sure this "big" wine would be significantly better for it. 90 pts WE (4/1/16) @ $43. [As of early Jan '20, wine-searcher still shows 3 sources from $42-$44].

Spicy notes with ripe fruit and a relatively light body. A hint of earthy comes through under the fruitiness.

showing some development. initial nose had some reduced funk, but it blows off quickly. Well made, beefy midpalate, and throws some heat on the finish. Overall well done.

Awesome right now - beautiful fruit, long smooth finish. Will only get better over the next year or so!
