Full fruit favor, tannins soft and luscious, muted pepper notes. This bottle went fast paired with barbequed pulled pork and cole slaw. One of many things getting 2021 off to a good start. Nicely aged, drink now if you have it. Sadly, this was our last bottle of this specific wine and vintage. Fortunately still have a 2009 and a 2010 Reserve. Something to look forward to.

Nice but nothing special with this Russian River syrah. On the nose there's some decent ripe black cherry and a bit of leather. On the palate is more black cherry and a bit of green plum. Somewhat one dimensional with not much depth or complexity, medium acidity and a short finish.

Really quite pleasant despite being at least 2 years too soon. Lots of dark fruit with a nice spiciness on the finish.
