Dierberg Pinot Noir Santa Maria Valley

Deep red in color average Pinot. Medium body longer than expected finish with a destinctive dark fruit taste.

I found this to be essentially undrinkable. Caveat - I purchased this week from a new local store, don't know the provenance, though they said it was from the winery's library program. Starts out with decent flavors, but a fair amount of heat (14.8% if I recall correctly). Set it aside, see if the heat blows off......no. Decent Pinot. Fairly deep red, some hints of purple. Cherry, spice, mint, some earthiness. Medium body, medium acid, medium finish.

Vibrant and dark ruby red color with a nose that is just as vibrant and fruit forward, full and robust. A sharp entry that mellowed, yet stayed the course with a rounded and warm mouth feel and a lingering finish that was not overshadowed by tannin or acidity, but rather a bright texture of strong fruit.
