Tasted with the 2020 Knights Valley Reserve, similar sensuous black fruit, the Napa is more vibrant, a touch more acid and tannin, more complex. 93 points to 92, both to me are essence of well made California Cabernet, precise faultless the Grape pedestalled rather than sublimated to a winemaker's accessorizing.

Normally a Knights Valley guy from this Vineyard but we were able to try their Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon last night. BIG DEEP rich in color and at 1st taste it is an absolute FRUIT BOMB. All types of concentrated dark berries and spice upon 1st taste. Opened rather quickly and the reason this did not get the 90 point mark for me is for this price point you should have the "BIG FINISH" ... This did not as Tannins …

Needs time yet. First day was enjoyable but left something to be desired. 2nd day this Cab’s wings open up. Rhubarb jam - subtle vanilla and a slice of oak. Great structure and quality. Looking forward to the next bottle much further down the line…

Had previously had a glass using the coravin and was impressed. Opened the bottle when my young assistant stopped by. The nose was dark fruit. The palate was dark berries, plum, tobacco and coffee. The finish was moderate.

This is the Vogt vineyard which they renamed. One can tell there is less new oak on the wine. Confirmed to be 70% new oak down from previous years. It's a big mountain cab, with richness and smoothness. Blackberries, cedar, tobacco, leather, richness, supple tannins, jammy notes, and minerality on the finish. Big tannins. A

93 June 2021. 👃 Violet, cherry, ripe strawberries, stems. 👅 High acid, fresh plum, cassis, dark chocolate, oak, fine sand tannin, medium+ finish. A HUGE napa cab. Beware of palette fatigue. After 4 hours in glass, the acidity mellows a bit, the plum and cassis fade leaving more pronounced candied cherry and chocolate and vanilla. Like it better young I think. June 2022 same notes as original, still really good.
