New world, fruit forward style barbera. Layers upon layers of juicy red fruit followed by secondary herbal and savory notes. Light acidity and smooth tannins. This is as good as it gets for American Barbera.

This is one of Mayo's better offerings. Doesn't have the acidity of a good Italian Barbera, but has full rich layers of red fruit with some blueberry undertones. Good tannins with enough acid to hold up to food.

This is a really beautiful and complex expression of barbera. About as good as it gets in the more fruit forward style of the new world. It still displays excellent secondary savory herbal notes and i imagine it will continue to improve. Its a real shame this is the last vintage since the vineyard has been sold and torn up.

This is classic Italian-styled Barbera with its firm acidity, cherry aromas and flavors, a hint of sweet summer herbs and notes of cranberry and pomegranate. It comes from hillside vineyards in the northern part of the Sonoma Valley that have striking reddish soils. Sadly this is the last vintage from this old vine vineyard as it was removed by the gorwers. The vineyard was planted in 1968 so this is your last chance to taste bit of California wine making …
