Domaine Henri Boillot Volnay 1er Cru Caillerets

Nothing has changed since my last bottle. Although this wine in not my style I believe that some might like it. Sour Cherry and cranberry. To my taste acidity out of balance. Lets see what more time will do here. Still have one. I have learned over the years that I simply enjoy domestic Pinot more than Burgundy. I like more fruit and a bit less acidity.

WOTN Elegant, soft tannins morning dew violets. Delicious .

Popped and poured and enjoyed over 90 minutes. This is ripe and easy to drink, but shows more like a very good New World pinot at this point. It may be that time will enhance this one, but right now it is relatively simple - but easy to drink. B+/A-

Popped and poured out of storage so might be better with some settling and air, but this was pleasant with good fruit but not the concentration and finish of the better versions of this wine. B+/A-?

Some bricking. Red berries, some vegetation, whiff of cinnamon. A little '04ish but in a sorta good way. I'd be drinking up at this point if this bottle is representative.

This was simply spectacular, with mesmerizing aromas of cherry cola, blue fruit, cut flowers, and sea breeze on the nose followed by soft and elegant flavors of black cherry, earth, and stone on the palate. Long, lingering, palate-dancing. This just has it all, epitomizes power without weight. One of the finest red burgs I've had in some time. In a great place now -- I imagine this will hold for a while.
