Paul Goerg, Brut Millesime Premier Cru

I like it even more than I remembered! Crisp, fresh citrus with some depth and texture. A bit of yeast and pie feeling. Went great with Shrimps on toasted bread with Safran Mayo.

Started out with bursting bubles, which I personally don't like. But after some times the bubles became gentle and a part of a good experience. Crisp champagne with notes of pie, yeast and lemon.

This one surprised me in a really good way. Loaded with lovely apple and pear, just a hint of caramel, has some richness that gives it a bigger mouthfeel, but overall really enjoyable

Brilliant, bubbly, elegant chardonnay flavors. Yum!

By the glass. Selection of El Corte Inglés. Made with 40% reserve wines and a dosage of 8 grams per liter. Complex on the nose with notes of yellow plums and apricots followed by aromas of nuts. Bright and crisp. Pale, golden tinged yellow. Lemon rind and honeysuckle on nose, with a modicum of flint. Initial pronounced bitterness on tongue gives way to mandarin orange and white grapefruit. Quite nuanced and lovely!

Fruity, yeasty on the nose. Almost candied fruits. A hint of floral and minerality. On the palate, it is sweet. Taste just ok.

Delicate and crisp. Lime rind flint, and mandarins orange on nose. Somehow, the Jasmine emerges in the tongue (how did they do that!). Love it!

Bouteille achetée en 2017. Un Champagne très vineux. De couleur dorée assez foncée. En donne beaucoup au nez et en bouche. Bien typé Chardonnay. Effervescence moyenne et bulles plutôt grosses. I needed to open this bottle after tasting the 2005 vintage, which felt quite disappointing and already going downhill. There's no indication of bottling or disgorgement date, but the wine has been in my cellar since early 2013, so probably the wine is disgorged around 2012? 12% alcohol. Mer bubblor än de äldre vinerna från samma kväll. Lite frän doft. Väldigt len i smaken till en början. Sedan kommer en krämighet, nougat och smörighet. Viss syra. Efter några timmar är det väldigt mycket järn. Har fortfarande svårt för 02or. Hmm.

WIML91 Tasted non blind. Light yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout with tiny, steady beading. nose of apricot, yellow pear and sea spray. Flavors of yellow apple, yellow pear and minerals. Bright acidity, full bodied. Drink or hold. GNO

Champagnegängets andra träff (Södermalm (hos @ettofotose)) : Very special on the nose showing mint, stone gravel and a hint of eucalyptus. Palate is still dominated by a lemon citrus acidity, but with time in the glass it becomes a bit dull and flat. Not sure if this will get better with extra cellar time.

Un champagne qui est bon mais quand même générique. Une bulle relativement fine. Des arômes de pomme, poire et de citron. Correct pour le prix. Quand même très bien avec les sushis. 90 pts

Un Champagne délicat sans grande persistance. Bien, mais manque un peu de coffre, de concentration qui le rendrait un peu plus mémorable.

Bu ce midi avec Mike, Bordeaux70 et Meursault au resto AVV La Fringal de Granby. Beau Champagne pour le prix, vineux et assez fin, bel équilibre, bien!

Bien qu'on compte un taux de sucre relativement élevé, l'acidité balance très bien ce champagne. Une belle amplitude et avec de la longueur. Parfait pour un repas (sushi ou tartare).

Well-fashioned but not my dish of tea when it comes to bubbly. Just a bit too austere and angular. Maybe related to low dosage? Who knows. But doesn't have the softness and yeasty notes that I prefer with Champers and wouldn't buy again.

Petit champagne pâle de Chardonnay, aux accents de poire et plutôt floral. De persistance moyenne, sa tenue est axée sur la rondeur et la douceur. Très bien, étant donné le prix modeste. #700 (**1/2+)

Great wine for the price.

Toasty, citrusy, with a little residual sugar, nice acidity and a medium finish.

Some citrus and toast aromas on the nose. Tart apple and citrus with loads of toast and brioche on the palate. Overall seemed too tart and young.

It is a nice wine, but you'd expect more from a millesime. Decent body, some bread notes and a little reminescent of non-vintage Bollinger. Maybe storing will improve it further, but I wouldn't bother.

Tasted next to 2003 Schrammesburg Reserve. Very easy to tell the difference. This wine is lighter than the 75% Pinot S'burg, with a distinctly French flavor. Smaller bubbles, and seemingly more, the nutty, creamy elements set it apart. Really nice and drinking well now, though will hold up for quite a while lager I suspect.

Starts out with dried fruit nose: apple, apricot even slight raisiny notes. Freshens up with time though. Some lemon, nuts, flint and seashells. Dry, medium bodied and refreshing palate with lean soft moussé. Chardonnay fruit, lemon, grapefruit, slight herbs, quinine and chalky minerality. Balanced aftertaste with decent length and slight toffee character. Rather nice refreshing stuff - though took quite some time to find balance. Some sulfur that toned down. Good backbone.

Fall Bachanalia (Green Dolphin St, Chicago IL) : nose: great citrus based nose with rounded tones of baking spices, yeast, and nut tones provding extra joy on top of the citrus backdrop taste: nice round feel with good bubbles providing varied citrus tones, baking spices, and nutty flavors working well together overall: Fat and round on both the nose and palate. Well defined flavors that meld together providing a citrus based attack and pleasant nutty finish

Very nice Chardonnay dominated Champagne. Shows terrific pear flavors, as well as a nice toastiness. Big acidity and structurer here. Gave the impression of being a little tight, but what it showed was, I thought, quite promising. Obviously infanticide to be drinking 2002 bubbly now, so I assume this will only get better. 90+.
