Glossy purple, opaque but bright. A lovely nose - something like cherry and blackberry liqueur. There's a distinct but integrated vanilla element too. Wonderfully smooth and rich on the palate: the word plush comes to mind. There's a suggestion of tongue-pricking acidity on the finish, which is long and perfectly poised. 'Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro and Tinta Roriz, aged for 18 months in new French oak.' Superb! Cork, 14%.
