This is definitely one of the top 5 Mission wines I’ve ever had, and there is no doubt that the other four were made by Sabelli-Frisch as well. I will echo what the JJ fellow said below. It probably won’t scratch the same itch as Chave Hermitage (or insert your favorite wine here), but it is interesting, unique and goes great with a wide variety of foods.

I was never impressed by this varietal (Mission) until I tried this wine. Masterful winemaking at it's best. Not easy to describe this wine, but very pleasant to drink. Highly recommend.

I think I like this wine more every time I drink it.

Pnp and slightly chilled as per advice on the label. Gorgeous and starting port-like color. Strawberry compote, thyme, the most turgid and bitter honey ever, some other spice I can’t put my finger on, iodine. A little reticent on the nose, forceful on the palate. Very different, without being weird. Is it going to win a technical competition with, say, a great Rhone or a Napa cab? No, but that tragically misses the point. This doesn’t taste like anything else. …

Beautiful light and bright color, very aromatic nose of red fruits, pepper, some salinity. Very fresh but nonetheless structured palate. Delicious.

Opened during BD16 to have with lunch...cherries and raspberries, savory herbs, and a spicy finish.

yum yum yum yum. deeper, spicier, richer than its clear ruby appearance would suggest.

Outstanding, and just a crazy value. Paired with wheat thins and blue cheese. I think this would go well with just about anything.

PnP. Light in color, but intense on the nose. Pure raspberry jam fills the glass. Red berries, tart cherries on the palate. Some spiciness develops as the wine warms and takes on air. Very much agree with a below review that this wine is ethereal but full bodied. Very enjoyable.

Tasted after 20 minutes of air. Light ruby color. Spicy strawberry fruit. Good balancing crunch. Very interesting. Nice herbal notes on the mid palate lift. Excellent. Pinot Paul gave this 100 points.

Oak is integrating, but still a bit heavy.

A lot of bang for the buck. Terrific wine that is somewhere between a natural Bojo and a wine Hardy Wallace would make. Light but impactful.

PnP. Hmm, not my cup of tea. Too tart and uninteresting. Based on other tn:s I will wait a couple of years for my next bottle and will decant it.

My first of 4. My notes are more like ErikJay. I thought this was pretty light and ethereal but full-flavored. This was the most popular wine of the night for my tasting group - so much so that a couple people started putting together DTC order from Sabelli. I will wait a bit on the others to see how it evolves. I don't have enough experience with the grape to really know.

Decanted. Now 45 min after decant. Apparently, I can't keep my own advice and keep this for about 2 yrs or more. Similar to my note on June 15, 2024 with some notable exceptions. The oak manifests itself with less vanilla and more oak spices on both the nose and palate. The flavors seem a bit darker as well, leaning toward and black cherries and barely ripe blueberries with a touch more earth. Maybe the oak will ultimately integrate given …

Decanted. Now 3h after decant. Nice aromas of tart candies cherries and pomegranate, herbs and a touch of bark. Palate w mildly candied red cherries, pomegranate, herbs, bark, and. Abir of vanilla oak on midpalate. Excellent acids with mild tannins. Medium body. Finish wi nice tart cherries and pomegranate, bark, minerals and oak spice. The oak still sticks out esp on the finish on a juicy tasty wine. The oak is better integrated than last time. Gives me some hope …

This remains maybe the best value wine in California. Light color and body that contrasts with surprising intensity of flavor. So good.

Tasted after 30 minutes of air. Pale ruby color. Sweet raspberry fruit on the nose. Nice floral. Spicy raspberry fruit. Almost reminds me of a grenache. Interesting spice. Excellent balance. These are very good wines at great prices. Please support Adam by buying his wines.

Tasted after 1 hour of air. Pale ruby color. Very crunchy. High acid. Very sweet raspberry fruit. Nice cut and delineation. Some spice. Nice high toned fruit on the mid palate. Mr. Adam is crazy man for making wines from these no name verticals. I love them. Wine would be boring if everyone followed the same formula.
