Coombsville Vintners and Growers Accociation (Napa) : $205 retail, medium amount of harsh tannins, fleshy, rich, lovely, very tasty, tasted twice today.

Power and complexity. Tons of structure and aromatics. Drank vs a ton of To Kalon Carter, Tor and MacDonald wines. Showed amazing.

From Palmaz: With a greeting of freshly fired creme brûlée and toasted currant, the 2016 Palmaz Cabernet draws you in for a cozy embrace. Comforting flavors of vanilla, caramel, and baked boysenberry dance across the palate. The voluptuous fruit flavors are effortlessly balanced with elegant tannins that cover the tongue like a feather - spreading to every hidden taste bud in the deepest corners of the palate. An everlasting finish that holds steadfast, begging to be remembered - satisfied only …

This was a pleasant surprise, Drank it with Curry and Lamb chops. But this is mature enough just to drink it alone. I'm definitely going to search out more vintages of this and contact the winery. Rated it as a 95 but really my bottle open for about 3 hours after being carefully cellared for 4 years. It is a little light as mentioned in other reviewers but just delicious.

Initially, this was all tight & wrapped up in a fetal position. Coming back to the half consumed bottle after a couple of days, the wine really opened up to a juicy Napa Cab. Open & decant for awhile before drinking.

OK light on the palate. Don't think the winemaker knew what he was doing.

more cellar or decanter time needed to soften the tannins, else this would be a very fine quaff indeed.

See my 5/6/12 notes. Consistent. Last bottle. Very good cab. Just low on the QPR. On the other hand, it went really well with the prime filets we grilled. We drank it next to a Chalk Hill 2008 Estate Red for less than half the price. The Chalk Hill was just more enjoyable, and a much better value.

Saturdays at One - First Chinese BBQ Post Thanksgiving Gluttony Festival! (First Chinese BBQ Arlington, TX) : WIMNR Tasted non blind. Opened and served immediately. Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. FULL STOP. Corked. Badly. Shame.

Nice Cabernet. Big red fruits. Tannins have softened. Improved a bit over the hour the bottle was consumed. Classic Cali cab that was good with my prime filet. My only criticism is that although it is quite good, it does not live up to its price point.

I really enjoyed this wine. It has a long finish and has the "it" factor. Palmaz built a large cave where the wine flows based on gravity.

Not a bad bottle of wine, but no fireworks, I would consider this run of the mill Napa Cab. You can tell that bottle age as aided this wine and should further improve. Would I buy this wine again? Not at it's release price. The positives of this wine came through while eating our steak. It followed a 2000 BV Georges De Latour which wasn't half bad for a crap vintage wine. This bottle had more depth then the BV, …

Enjoyed this on a weeklong cruise. Compared favorably to a 2002 Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon that we had the night before. Actually enjoyed this bottle more.

Dark and sturdy wine. The opening note seems a hint of coming brilliance... that never comes. Rather than opening up the wine whimpers to a tannic tight close. A nice drinker but there are much better wines and values at this price point.

Continues to disappoint. This bottle had a fragrant nose, smooth taste and crashed on the finish. Weird after taste buried in there. Just not worth the money.

This wine is drinking perfectly right now. Our first Palmaz, really outstanding, stylistically a very typical now mature high end Napa cab enjoyed New Year's day with a beef tenderloin dinner with good CT wine buddies neighborbill and sidboy and spouses. The second of three big cabs that night, preceded by an '04 Burly and followed by an '05 Continuum and this stood up very well to both the competition and the the big meat. Too expensive to be any …

Very nice. Probably should have let it age for another couple of years. Black plum, vanilla, herbs, spice and oak on the nose and palate. Finish is a little astringent and tight.

Decanted for 2 hours. This was the first of my 02's and I was hopeful that it would overcome the '01 issues. Not to be. Disappointing. They threw so much money into building the winery and just haven't been able to pull it together. It would be good for $30-40, not $100. I'm not buying anymore of their wines.

The juice was tantalizing. It yielded some wonderful fruit but it was weak and disappeared all too quickly.
