Clos Grangeneuve, Pomerol

Neutral about this pomerol. It's serious and well made, but lacking a bit of personality and fruit. Nevertheless pleasant but I expected better of a 10 years old Pomerol

PnP. More red than purple, rather odd for a 2019. Still, a decent enough wine, if not terribly exciting. Nose better than the mouth. Even so, the nose is mostly about chunky fruit and cocoa powder. In the mouth, seems over-acidified, with the fruit flavor muted. Might smooth out over time, but who knows? I overpaid this wine. It is certainly not worth $80. Massive ripe fruit on the nose and in the mouth, full bodied with friendly tannins, I would like to see more freshness at this level though.
