Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of light amber colour, with fading greenish rim and legs. Nose: Clean, with medium (+) intensity aromas of citrus fruit of lemon peel, stone fruit of apricot, tropical fruit of pineapple and mango, dried fruit of raisin, maturity notes of honey, floral notes of honeysuckle, sweet spice of ginger. [from 375ml bottle; number 6 of 10 in the 2004 Kracher TBA collection] golden amber colour and mildly viscous. quince, orange peel, apricot, and honeycomb on the nose, perfumed by soft acacia and honeysuckle blossoms. very silky in the mouth, intense apricot flavours with lemony acidity take the lead. good botrytis character with beeswax, orange marmalade, quince jam, a streak of ginger spice, and a subtle savoury minerality. very long. complex and developed at twenty, and with a handful of …

Amber with green tints around the edges. Aromas of orange zest, vanilla, resin, spice box and honey suckle. The palate is unctuous showing sweet and oily quince paste, orange marmalade, honey, good acidity and a very viscous, perfumed & never ending finish.

Deep gold in color. Lovely aromas of apricots, orange zest, saffron and baking spices. Unctuous and viscous palate shows superb depth to the apricot, peach and orange marmalade, vanilla creme-brûlée, excellent acidity and an endless sweet and spice-box laden finish.

We had this wine for dessert as we awaited the new year. The wine had been bought in Austria in release and brought over to London where it sat in temperature controlled conditions. It was superb, one of the best older Kracher TBA’s I’ve had. The wine’s nose is exploded out of the glass, filling the kitchen with smells of quinces, passion fruit mangoes and a touch of citrus. The wine was dark amber in colour and seemed almost to …

Honey and mead on the nose, on the palate intense apricot, peaches, nectarines, and tangerine. Outstanding.

Fine Vines Fall 2019 Portfolio Tasting (City Winery - Chicago IL) : Walk-around tasting, brief note. Plenty of apricot and peach with good length and balance, just not showing the hints of complexity yet that are the hallmark of the top versions of Grande Cuvée.

For dessert at Dave's house, with pastries. Abundant apricots and honey, a delicious end to a long dinner. Still well within its drinking window.

Kracher and Roumier Dinner with Gerhard Kracher (Brasserie Margeaux - Chicago IL) : Plenty of apricot with subtle spice and mineral textures. Good weight and length. Maybe this got lost alongside the tastier #2 and the earlier great 1998s.

Raisons, Peach, Almonds, Apricot, Orange, honey, chocolate. Full of life. Very nice botrytis wine matured in small French Oak (Nouvelle Vague). Just delicious. Closer to a Sauternes in style, I think. I would get this again and now I want to try to the Zwischen den Seen style as well. Excellent match with truffled cheeses and biscotti. I liked it better on the colder side of the spectrum.

Fine Vines Fall 2018 Portfolio Tasting (City Winery - Chicago IL) : Tasting, brief note. Both fresh and dried apricot with lots of sweetness, spice and complexity. Very complex. Tasty now, certainly better in a decade. 92-93 point potential.

The nose was very pretty with a mix of ripe apple, crushed stone, sweet spices, coconut, dried florals and minerals. On the palate, I found enveloping, silky textures with a bump of lifting acidity, as ripe yellow apple, sweet spices, lemon curd and honey washed across the senses. The finish was wonderfully long and fresh, with lingering ripe stone fruits, spices, and inner floral tones. This is the most likely to please across many palates, with great acidity to balance …

Drank off the wine list at Gordon Ramsay's. My first one of these. From memory as I didn't take detailed notes and we had this about a week ago. It was if I recall a bit on the intense side. Reminded me a touch of the SQN ones (which makes sense - Kracher was part of those). High acid, but also high levels of sweetness. A nice touch at the end of the night and actually went better with the …

The freshness and purity of fruit (white peach, pears) belied the dark copper tone. Great vigour. Sweet but perfectly in balance. A super example of a wine that sometimes leaves me underwhelmed

Drank two bottles for my cellar side by side. There was some bottle variation. One was darker and more caramelized than the other. To my palate these Nouvelle Vague cuvée as are not as good the Zwischen den Seen wines.

Taste note of my daughter (9) who was allowed to put her finger in the wine: " m m m m mmmmm" Tasted with pomegranate/apple crumble. Lovely subtle nose. Superbe palate; great sticky sweetness. This is elixer! Gold in a glass with a fantastic sharp finish

tasted blind. Not a great specimen of this wine. Lacking acidity and balance, feels baked and spicy. Not consistent with previous experiences.

Orange, with notes of quince compote and lots of botrytis. Very nice balance with slightly less acidity than I would have like, sweet but never cloying.

- Dinner at R1 and Christina - I was blown away by this bottle which showed beautiful golden honeyed color, complex nose with evolved tones with great distinction and refinement. Supreme balance in the mouth with no excess sweetness. Great stuff, will buy more

Needs an 2 hour decant. Really good sweet wine, lacked acid when first opened, but after a while it came, making it almost perfect. Good nose with tropical fruit, golden colour. Can be stored for many years.

Fresh and light on the nose. The acidity seems OK, although just above 7.0. Dried fruit and hints of white chocolate. Shorter than many Krachers.

Opened the bottle and let it sit for two days in the fridge for transformation to viscous, honey sweetness with some flowery hints and a long finish. The 1-12 rating scale is very finely tuned--this is still a very sweet drink.
